The Tamburini T12 Massimo superbike has been priced at Rs. 2.27 crore and is the last creation of Massimo Tamburini, the legendary Italian motorcycle designer.

Massimo Tamburini was in the league of those motorcycle designers who revolutionised the world of two wheels with his achingly stunning motorcycles. He was the man behind the making of the legendary Ducati 916 and the beautiful MV Agusta F4 superbikes. Sadly, Tamburini died two years ago after being diagnosed with cancer and left behind an unfinished project.

Tamburini's son, Andrea, took the responsibility to shape his final dream - Tamburini T12 Massimo into reality. The 'T' stands for Tamburini, 12 was his lucky number and his name Massimo is an Italian word that means maximum. Like the other creations of the designing legend, his last motorcycle is also styled interestingly with several sharp edges. The whole bike has been built from scratch on a newly developed trellis frame which was one of Tamburini’s specialities. The frame gets a new patented adjusting mechanism that allows you to alter the frame angle without replacing any part.

The Tamburini T12 Massimo superbike is powered by the four-cylinder powerplant of the BMW S 1000 RR that is factory equipped with the HP race engine kit 3 and tuned to churn out 233PS. The bike uses top quality cycle parts made of rare and expensive metals. The swing arm, triple clamps, inner steering tube, rear wheel hub and both the Marchesini wheels are crafted of magnesium alloy. A touch of titanium added with the custom-made Arrow exhaust system, while levers, footpegs, handlebars and some other parts are CNC machined from billet aluminium.

As Tamburini always said a sport bike does not need excessive power for the most influential factors in delivering the best results are low weight and its optimal distribution. With all the efforts that went behind creating the T12 Massimo and the usage of high-grade lightweight materials, the bike weighs merely 150 kgs in dry state. It has been priced at $3,32,000 (approximately Rs. 2.27 crore) in the US market and will be produced in limited volumes as a track-only bike.
