The Himalayan 450 LC is expected to launch by November

In yet another spy video, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC and Super Meteor 650 have been spied testing together on Indian roads. The frequent spy shots are suggestive of the launch date nearing for both bikes.

While the Super Meteor 650 looked production-ready, it was painted in a complete black shade without any branding; and well, it looks pretty stunning. The high rise fuel tank gives it a rather elegant appeal, with a laid-back riding position. The cruiser also flaunts an old school rounded headlight, taillight and turn indicators; however, they seem to be LED powered. Not so old school after all.

The Himalayan 450 LC was spotted under camouflage. Despite that, you can see the rather fancy-looking, taillight integrated LED turn indicators and a long elevated front beak. That said, we already know that this bike is going to be quite a departure from Enfield’s general bike portfolio, and you can head here for more information about the bike.

In terms of powertrain, the Super Meteor will be propelled by the same 650cc parallel-twin mil borrowed from the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. It is expected to produce the same  47.6PS and 52Nm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The Himalayan 450 LC will get an all new 450cc engine, which is liquid-cooled–a very first for the veteran bikemaker. It is likely to make similar power and torque figures as its direct rival, the KTM 390 Adventure, which produces 43.5 PS and 37Nm.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC is expected to be unveiled at the EICMA 2022, with the launch likely to happen at the Riders Mania 2022 in November. The upcoming ADV is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The Super Meteor can be expected to debut three months after the Himalayan’s launch, at an estimated price of around Rs 3.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
