Most Affordable Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Spotted At Dealership

The new variant range is based on the Bullet 350. It is available in two options: with electric start and without. The variant without electric start appears to have different stickering.

The most affordable variant range of the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has been spotted at a dealership, hinting at an imminent launch. Going by the spy shots, it appears that the motorcycle comes in a colour theme similar to the Thunderbird 350X, and likely with the ‘X’ moniker as well. Judging by the lack of gas-charged rear shock absorbers, it is pretty evident that the bike is based on the Bullet 350, not the Bullet ES.

The bike will be available in two options: with and without electric start. The model with electric start seems to get the same Royal Enfield 3D logo on the fuel tanks as the Bullet 350 ES, whereas the one without electric start gets a simpler sticker on the fuel tank. That said, both bikes lack the trademark hand-painted pinstripe on the tank. While it may help save costs, hardcore Royal Enfield enthusiasts may scoff at this move as the pinstriping has been the brand’s tradition since 1957.

Apart from this, the bike with electric start features a blacked-out powertrain with chrome exhaust whereas the kick start version gets the black treatment only on the engine fins whereas the engine head and casing get a metallic finish. The 19-inch spoke wheels are finished in black and both the variants get a ribbed front tyre.

Other than these changes, the bike remains mechanically the same as the Bullet 350. The 346cc single-cylinder engine makes 20PS of power at 5250rpm and 28Nm at 4000rpm. The motorcycle gets telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers. Brakes include a disc up front with single-channel ABS and a drum at the rear. The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is priced at Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it is likely that the base X variant will be priced at around Rs 1.15 lakh while the electric start version could command the same price as the Bullet 350.

Royal Enfield’s sales have been on a downward spiral recently, thanks to factors like low demand and increased insurance costs. Launching a more affordable version capitalising on the Bullet’s popularity should help lure more budget-conscious riders to the Royal Enfield bandwagon.
