CS Santosh excels in Dakar Rally, secured 36th position

So we Indians have another name in the list of champions, CS Santosh, who has shown his potential and passion for riding. By finishing 36th out of 168 riders in the world’s meanest off-road endurance race- Dakar Rally, he has written his names in the motorcycling history.

 


The moment of proud accelerates when we acknowledge that there were only 79 riders who made it through and CS Santosh held a fine position in this crucial race. Journey started on January 5th and Chunchunguppe Shivashankar Santosh covered 9,295km with an overall time travels of 60 hours, 39 minutes, 20 seconds, finishing his quest for success on January 17th. He was far behind the reigning champion Marc Coma who rushed for the title in 46 hours, 3 minutes and 49 seconds.

 


CS Santosh ignoring the fact that he had an injured left shoulder, fractured right toe and list of miscellaneous falls under the inconsistent weather, he simply excelled.


Speaking about his campaign at the Dakar Rally, Santosh said, "I've shown that it's possible, an Indian can do it too. I hope there will be more of us in the future."
