The brand will contact the respective owners very soon and will work proactively to resolve the issue.
Suzuki Hayabusa Recall: What is the Exact Issue?
Suzuki India informed us that they have recalled 1,056 units of the Gen-3 Suzuki Hayabusa across the country. The reason for this recall is the potential issue with the front brake levers in these bikes. While applying brakes the front brake lever’s play increases, making it so soft that it may get pulled all the way back to touch the accelerator.
Due to this, there is less feedback from the brake lever and less braking performance too. In the worst-case scenario, this issue could be fatal as it can result in inefficient braking and lead to an increased braking distance which can even result in a mishap. The brand is continuously working with its dealership and service networks to resolve this issue for free for its customers.
The Suzuki Hayabusa gets its front brakes from Brembo and it has twin 320mm front discs linked to the top-of-the-line Brembo Stylema callipers. Whereas, the bike gets a single disc with a Nissin calliper at the rear; equipped with a dual channel ABS as standard.
More about the Suzuki Hayabusa
The Gen-3 Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by a 1340c, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine that produces a peak output of 190PS at 9,700rpm and 150Nm at 7,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
The Hayabusa has been the poster bike of many for 2 decades and even today remains to be one of the best and most value-for-money superbikes in India. The Dhoom bike is still the dream of many and surely turns a lot of heads on the road. Currently, the Hayabusa is available in 2 variants: standard Hayabusa is priced at Rs 16,90,000, and the Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Celebration Edition costs Rs 17,70,000 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike comes in a total of Metallic Thunder Gray/Candy Daring Red, Metallic Mat Black No.2/Glass Sparkle Black, Pearl Vigor Blue/Pearl Brilliant White and the special edition Glass Blaze Orange and Glass Sparkle Black.
The Suzuki Hayabusa used to compete directly against the Kawasaki ZX-14R, but since the Kawasaki bike has been discontinued, the Busa does not have a direct competitor in the market.
