Honda CB300F Flex-fuel: Price & Rivals
The 2024 Honda CB300F Flex-fuel launched at Rs 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the same as the petrol-powered version. It is available in a single variant with 2 colour options, including Sports Red and Mat Axis Grey Metallic. Bookings for the bike are now open at Honda Big Wing dealerships across the country.
Being the only flex-fuel bike in the 250-300cc segment, it doesn’t have any direct competitors. But, it rivals the other 300cc bikes including the Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM Duke 250, Honda CB300F and the Honda CB300R. Other alternatives include the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z and Royal Enfield Classic 350.
What’s New?
The 2024 Honda CB300F Flex-fuel is the first-ever 300cc bike in India to be launched in a flex-fuel version. It is equipped with a 293.52cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine which is compatible to run on E85 fuel and produces a maximum power output of 24.8PS at 7,500rpm and 25.9Nm at 5,500rpm (the standard Honda CB300F makes slightly less power and 0.3Nm less). It is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
The bike also gets an ‘Intelligent Ethanol Indicator’, which notifies the rider if ethanol content in the petrol is more than 85 percent.
What’s Unchanged?
The 2024 CB300F Flex-fuel continues to feature the same design language as its petrol-only powered version. It comes with a sleek and sharp look. The fuel tank extensions further enhance its sporty appeal. The naked bike comes with the same features as before including an LCD instrument console, traction control, and all-LED lighting setup.
The Honda CB300F Flex-fuel gets a gold-finished inverted fork and a five-step adjustable monoshock. It is equipped with a 276mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
BikeDekho Says
Launched at the same price as the standard version, the 2024 Honda CB300F Flex-fuel will offer a more environment-friendly fuel alternative for those who want to buy a 300cc naked bike. It even produces slightly more power and torque than the standard CB300F.
Previously, Bajaj Auto launched the Freedom 125 CNG bike in India. Now, the new 300cc Flex-fuel bike has been added to the Honda India’s line-up and other manufacturers like Suzuki, TVS and Royal Enfield are also working on flex-fuel compatible bikes. This shows that the manufacturers are interested in bringing bikes with alternate fuel options to the market to find a balance between eco-friendly fuel which does not require hours of charging like the electric vehicles.
