Yamaha has hiked the prices of its popular models: the YZF-R15 Version 3.0, FZ25, Fazer 25, FZ FI V3.0, FZ-S FI V3.0, and YZF-R3 marginally. Here’s a comparison of the new prices with the old ones:
The Darknight edition of the R15 V3.0 has also witnessed a price hike of Rs 600 and it now costs Rs 1,42,880. Interestingly, the prices of the MotoGP edition of both the R15 V3.0 and the FZ25 have remained unchanged at Rs 1,42,780 and Rs 1,36,680 respectively. What’s even more interesting is that the MT-15’s price has remained unchanged at Rs 1,36,000. The 155cc naked’s price remained the same even when Yamaha had hiked the prices of its two-wheelers in July this year. In fact, the MT-15’s price has seen no change ever since its launch.
Earlier, Yamaha suggested that the prices of its motorcycles and scooters could go up by around 10-15 per cent once they are updated with fuel injection to comply with BS6-emission norms. It may sound expensive, but the fact is that the entire baseline pricing of all the two-wheelers is bound to go up because of the new emission norms. The Japanese brand had revealed that it will start manufacturing BS6-compliant motorcycles from November 2019 and scooters from January 2020. So expect the brand to launch the BS6-compliant bikes in December 2019, whereas the scooters are likely to be launched in February 2020. If you’re lucky, there might be a chance of a stock clearance sale before the launch of BS6-compliant vehicles, and it might be the right time to pick up your favourite Yamaha for a good deal.
In a related development, details about the BS6-compliant version of the R15 V3.0 have been leaked online and as expected, there has been a small change in output figures. Even the BS6-compliant Fascino has been spotted testing for the first time. You can head here for our analysis.
