Yamaha YZF-R15 One Make Race Championship kicks off in style

The 2014 YZF-R15 One Make Race Championship, a part of the Indian National Racing Championship 2014, kicked off in style with the first round concluding yesterday at the Madras Motor Race Track, Chennai. With an entertaining crowd, the race started off with a sunny day and a dry track and concluded on a rainy note during the presentations after the race. Being organized in association with the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) and the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the championship will conclude with one more round to go in October 2014 before coming to an end.

 


A total of 38 participants took part in the novice category for the round one with the top 17 qualifying for the race. There were two races held for the qualifiers of the Novice category with Mithun Kumar PK winning Race 1 and E.Saravanan and S.Siva making first and second Runners-up respectively. Race 2 saw Vivian Gladwin David taking the victory with Naresh Babu J as 1st Runner-up and Piyush Ranjan as 2nd Runner-up.

 


The Open class had a total of 22 participants out of which top 17 qualified for the races. Again, there were two races held for the qualifiers of the Open category. Vivek Pillar won Race 1 with Ananth Raj.P and D.Dinesh Kumar finishing up the second and third places in the podium while Shyam Shankar grabbed the first place in Race 2 with 1st Runner Up D.Dinesh Kumar and 2nd Runner Up Ananth Raj.P.
