Patent images of the Motrac V-Twin cruiser reveal a very Italian influence

Innovation is something that the Chinese aren’t particularly good at when it comes to automobiles unlike their smartphones. Over the years, the Chinese have blatantly copied car and bike designs from international markets (including the first-gen Pulsar) and the latest inspiration for them is the Ducati Diavel

Patent images of the Motrac V-Twin have emerged and the Italians won’t be happy. As you can see, the design elements such as the headlight nacelle, fuel tank shape, tank extension and even the rear seat is a straight lift from the last generation Diavel. It also gets a tyre-hugger mounted number plate. But, unlike the Italian exotica, the Chinese copy has to make do with a conventional double-sided swingarm.

The Motrac cruiser is powered by a 900cc, water-cooled V-twin motor producing 65PS and 74.5Nm of torque. Not on the same ballpark as the Ducati offering, but good enough to compete against the Harley-Davidson Iron 883. Suspension hardware on the bike includes an USD fork and twin shock absorbers at the back. Braking duties are handled by a twin-disc setup at the front and a single disc unit at the rear. It’s not clear whether the Motrac cruiser will feature single or dual-channel ABS. Just like the Diavel, the Motrac V-Twin also features a TFT colour digital display.
