There’s going to be a slew of launches in the 2nd half of 2025, like the first supermoto in India
India's two-wheeler market is set for a vibrant 2025, with the rising demand of motorcycles with engine displacements of 500cc and below. Almost all domestic and international brands in India have something interesting appealing to almost every kind of users ranging from the daily commuters to off-road riders. Here’s what to expect in the next six months:
Hero MotoCorp
Hero might be launching the 2025 Mavrick with a gold colour inverted fork by October, priced at Rs 2.30 lakh. The Karizma XMR 250, the fully faired version of the Xtreme 250 and bigger sibling of the Karizma 210, could be priced at Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom). It might also launch during the same time as the Mavrick - same as Hero did with the XPulse 210 and Xtreme 250 in January 2025 at Bharat Mobility Expo (Auto Expo 2025).
Honda
Honda could launch two more bikes based on their parallel-twin 471cc engine. We currently get the NX500 and Rebel 500 in India. The next two bikes could be the CB500F naked streetfighter and the CBR500R fully faired sportbike that competes directly with the Kawasaki Ninja 500 and Aprilia RS 457. If we’re lucky, the CB500F could be launched in August 2025 possibly priced at around Rs 5 lakh, and the CBR500R in September, likely at Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yamaha
The 2025 R3 and MT-03 are likely to come to India in December this year, likely priced at around Rs 3.70 lakh and 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The 2025 iterations only get cosmetic and feature updates, and remain mechanically unchanged.
The Lander 250, on the other hand, will be a lightweight, off-road capable dual-sport, and could be launched this year in October, priced at around Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It debuted in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
BMW Motorrad
BMW is expected to launch the F 450 GS by November 2025 at EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy. It might be priced at Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a middle-weight, parallel-twin adventure tourer, whose concept was displayed at EICMA 2024 and Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025. The bike will be made in India by TVS.
TVS & Norton
TVS will be launching the RTX 300 adventure tourer to rival bikes like the KTM 250 Adventure, Suzuki V-Storm SX, and the 2025 Yezdi Adventure. It might be priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and could be launched by August 2025. This will be TVS’ first adventure bike, and will be more of a road-biased ADV.
The Apache RR 450 and the Norton 450, based on the same platform as the BMW F 450 GS, are also expected to come out in concept form this year. The Norton 450 will be a neo-retro roadster, likely to be unveiled at the 2025 EICMA in November this year. We might also see the TVS Apache RR 450, the Hosur-based brand’s flagship supersport at the MotoSoul 2025, likely in December this year. That said, the launch of both the bikes will likely happen only in 2026. The Apache RR 450 could cost around Rs 4.20 lakh whereas the Norton 450 will be a premium bike, pegged at around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
KTM
The KTM 160 Duke and RC are replacements to their 125cc counterparts, and directly rival the Yamaha MT-15 V2 and the Yamaha R15 V4. We could see the Duke 160 by August 2025 and the RC 160 by October 2025, probably costing Rs 1.85 lakh and 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The upcoming 160cc KTM bikes should offer better value for money compared to the brand’s 125cc range as they are expected to offer a good balance of performance, features at a fairly affordable price point.
More importantly, the company will also launch the 390 SMC R by August this year at around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the supermoto version of the 390 Enduro R with 17-inch wheels and road-biased tyres on both ends. It will be the first small-capacity supermoto in India.
Triumph
As of now we know that Triumph will be launching two more bikes based on the 400cc engine platform: the Thruxton 400 and Scrambler T4 - both of which have been spotted testing multiple times. The Thruxton is a cafe racer based on the Speed 400, and could cost Rs 2.60 lakh with launch possibly by October this year.
On the other hand, the Scrambler T4 could be less powerful and be a more affordable version of the Scrambler, likely priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), launching by November 2025. The idea is similar to how the Speed T4 relates to the Speed 400 with the former being the more affordable, toned-down version of the latter.
Kawasaki
If we are lucky, Kawasaki could launch the Z500 in India this year by October and they could price it at Rs 5.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The Z500 is the naked streetfighter version of the Ninja 500, and the 451cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine is also shared with the Eliminator. The Z500 makes a lot of sense in India, especially for those who are looking at a refined 500cc parallel-twin streetfighter with Japanese engineering.
CFMoto
We had ridden the CFMoto 450MT in March 2025, and the brand has said that the bike will be launched this year, most probably by September. It could be priced at around Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The 450MT is an adventure bike with spoke wheels and a parallel-twin engine. It will be the only other parallel-twin alternative to the Honda NX500, until the BMW F 450 GS comes out.
