Though it looks vintage, it is as fast as the Tork Kratos

The early 1900s saw the great period of Board Track Racing with V-twin engines clipped onto the frame of a bicycle. Bringing that back in a futuristic way is the Italian custom house called GDesign with the Elettracker e-bike that encapsulates the vintage appeal of the board track racers but gets a V-twin battery pack resembling an IC engine.

The Elettracker adopts a properly old-school design language with a frame of a bicycle. It gets a sleek body panel, with the bike’s branding on it, clipped onto the spine of the frame. Just below that is the V-twin battery pack, which to say the least, looks fascinating.

Powering this e-bike is an electric motor with a peak output of 2.5kW claiming a top speed of a whopping 90kmph. This electric motor is paired to a 72 volt battery pack that claims a range of about 40km of range.

In terms of underpinnings, the e-bike features a girder fork up front and it uses discs at both ends for stopping power. It rolls on big 26 inch bicycle spoke wheels. All of this hardware makes the e-bike tips the scales at only 50kg.

Enhancing its futuristic vintage e-bike appeal is Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity via a mobile app.

Summing up, the Elettracker e-bike will not be heading to our shores, but we’d love to see Indian EV makers come up with something that’s tastefully retro yet delightfully modern in terms of tech. If you’re looking for electric bicycles,  you can check out the Firefox Adventron and Svitch e-bikes available in India.
