The special edition colour variants commemorate the brand’s 100 millionth vehicle to roll out of its factory

  • Hero MotoCorp’s 100 millionth two-wheeler was the Hero Xtreme 160R.
  • All the six products will be available from next month.
  • The brand has also confirmed its plans to launch ten products every year, for the next five years.

It’s been an eventful day for Hero MotoCorp as the 100 millionth two-wheeler, the Hero Xtreme 160R, rolled out of its factory in Haridwar, Uttar Pradesh. To celebrate this occasion, the Indian bikemaker has unveiled special celebration editions of the Hero Splendor Plus, Passion Pro, Glamour 125, Destini 125, and the Maestro Edge 110. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan graced the online event and personally autographed a few two-wheelers too.

These special edition variants will be available from February. Expect them to be around Rs 500-1,000 dearer than the standard variants owing to their unique livery. Other mechanicals have remained unchanged, though.

More importantly, Hero MotoCorp’s CEO Dr. Pawan Munjal has announced that the company will launch 10 new products every year for the next five years. This will include variants, refreshes, upgrades as well as premium offerings. Hero MotoCorp will kick things off in the premium segment with the launch of a 450cc adventure motorcycle based on the brand’s Dakar Rally bike. In fact, Hero MotoCorp had showcased a prototype earlier in February 2020. You can drool over the details in this image gallery here.

Apart from this, Hero MotoCorp is also likely to launch the eMaestro as early as this year. It will be the brand’s first electric two-wheeler in India and will go up against the likes of the Bajaj Chetak electric and TVS iQube Electric.
