Everve Electric Scooter: All You Need To Know

Everve’s EF1 electric scooter, which was unveiled at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020, promises to offer performance and features that are on par, if not better, than other premium EVs like the Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak. Here’s all you need to know about this upcoming scooter.

It is feature-packed:

The prototype unveiled at the expo packs a host of features such as LED projector headlamp, LED tail lamp and LED turn indicators. It gets a full-colour digital instrument console which displays relevant info such as range, battery status, maps, location, error codes, riding modes and boost. You will also be able to update the console via Over The Air Updates (OTA).

It will have a choice of two powertrains.

When launched, the EF1 e-Scooter will be available with two electric powertrain options: a 3kW motor and a more powerful 5kW unit. The electric motor is mounted behind the battery and delivers drive to the rear wheel via a belt drive. Everve claims the electric scooter can accelerate from 0-60kmph in 8.73 seconds. The claimed top speed is 110kmph, though Everve has chosen to restrict it to 90kmph.

It gets two batteries:

It gets two batteries: The e-Scooter gets two removable lithium-ion battery packs. They can be charged on the electric scooter itself or can be taken out and taken home. Charging time is around 5 hours via a 5A socket. Everve says the batteries can also be charged upto 50 per cent in 1.5 hours using a fast charger. Together, the batteries deliver a claimed range of 100km on a single charge. It has substantial underpinnings: The electric scooter gets a fat telescopic upside-down fork and dual gas-charged shock absorbers. The 12-inch wheels have chunky tyres and disc brakes on both ends. These should help the scooter handle and brake well. Pricing and availability: While the e-Scooter on display was a prototype, Everve says it will launch the production version by late 2020. While they have not released details about pricing, the upcoming scooter is expected to be priced between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh, which would put it directly against the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube. However, Everve says it will deliver a more premium buying experience than its competitors. One such example is the doorstep delivery of the new scooter.
