Royal Enfield has opened up pre-bookings for the Himalayan 450 in the American market. Here’s all about its price, variants & more

Royal Enfield launched the Himalayan 450 in Manali, India, back in November 2023. The Himalayan 450 was a step up for Royal Enfield in terms of technology, design, and finish, it has a few things to be resolved but we’re sure Royal Enfield will fix those bits too. It has been one of the most popular adventure bikes in India, welcomed with good-looking sales figures. After a long time, Royal Enfield launched the Indian adventure bike in the West, meaning the United States of America.

In the US market, the Himalayan 450 is priced higher since the bikes are manufactured here, in India and have to be exported leading to the increase in its price. Following are the prices as per the variants:

    Variants

Price in Dollars (with approximate conversion in Indian Rupees)

    Kaza Brown

    $5,799 (around Rs 4,85,612)

Slate Himalayan Salt & Slate Poppy Blue

    $5,899 (around Rs 4,93,986)

    Hanle Black

    $5,999 (around Rs 5,02,360)

The Himalayan 450 is the second generation of the Himalayan model in the Royal Enfield line-up. It is the first Royal Enfield bike to get a liquid-cooled engine. It is powered by a 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled ‘Sherpa’ engine producing 40PS at 8000rpm and 40Nm at 5500rpm and it is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a massive 17-litre fuel that will let you take the bike to uncharted territories.

The Himalayan 450 is decked up with a plush suspension setup, an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock. It offers a very comfortable upright seating position for all-day riding in the saddle. It is equipped with a modern TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for call/SMS alerts, music control and Google Maps navigation. It has a kerb weight of 196kg. Overall, it is a well-designed bike that you can take to explore the corners of the world without pinching your pocket.

Currently, in India the Himalayan 450 is available in 5 colour options: Kaza Brown is priced at Rs 2,85,000, the Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue sells for Rs 2,89,000, while the Kamet White costs Rs 2,93,000 and the Hanle Black is priced at Rs 2,98,000 (all prices ex-showroom).

Royal Enfield has opened the pre-booking window for the Himalayan 450 on the USA website, while no accessories have been listed on the website yet. The US-spec Himalayan 450 might get the tubeless spoked wheels as an optional accessory, it is not yet certified in India hence we don’t have the option to buy it here.

Royal Enfield as bought a amezing bike
Am 6.1 height so i need comfort, maintenance cost, features and style is so good, performance wise amazing and torque in 6th gear is next level. I bought this bike for a long drive and as well as city riding. Stress less ride, the variation in weight is due to the additional touring and safety features equipped on the top-end model. Here is a quick breakdown. Totally the bike is crazy i ride this bike continuously for 500km. For ADV lover one of the best bike. I would like to recommend this bike who has a passion in off-road they can buy with any second thoughts and style is so good performance wise amazing. But service is disappointed in some service station.

2 years review of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
Purely because of Royal Enfield reliability Upgrading from a 2015 classic 350 to Himalayan 450 is a massive difference, Literally is built for no roads. Feels like a bigger bike compared to previous generations. Bigger tank unlocks better highway travels. Positive about the bike is the Ride has been the smoothest the engine is very responsive in a good way. It is aggressive when you need it to be the plush suspension lets you move on and off road freely without any issues. Can be easily managed in traffic. Really good on the highways excellent seat comfort for the rider and the pillion for city travel as well as long highway travelling. Can be used as a daily commuter bike in city Negative about the bike Should have had the option for cruise control and quick shifter for better riding experience. I will definitely recommend this bike to the person who can firstly handle such a tall and heavy bike With great power comes great responsibility so if it is going to the first ever bike i will recommend to start riding the bike in eco mode to first get a hang of power and throttle response

      Best in the class
I'm kinda adventures and I do a lot of touring and cover a lot of kms. wanted service centres in case any issue with the bike. Parts are easily available also wanted a bike with comes in my budget and doesn't not bleed me when it comes to service. Hence, this bike serves all my purpose. Rides fantastic, the build quality is amazing, it's comfortable for covering long distances in one go and the suspension, I have no worlds for it. It's glides over roads or no roads without any issues. Its just the best in this class when it comes to comfort. Yes, I will recommend the bike for sure it has taken me places where i could only dream off. From north to east from east to the west, and west to the south just riding without any issue. Close your eyes and go for it.

Himalayan 450 review after riding it for 500kms
The himalayan 450 got such a rally style design which I love it. It got the good school design with a modern twist which looks fabulous. It can take anywhere around on road or off road, the performance of the bike is really good. The bike has good amount power and I'm satisfied with what I got. When you are riding the bike it's really comfortable around the city roads with dumps and pot holes, you don't feel those dumps and potholes due to the suspension which is not adjustable but does the job. The performance of the bike is fabulous, the bike got enough power and torque to go around anywhere. The only downside is weight of the bike which is mostly front heavy, its a big deal to move the bike around while not riding. Yes absolutely, I recommend this bike for touring and off-road enthusiasts. However this bike can be used a daily commuter but one should keep in mind that the bike gives you around 19 to 21 kms mileage per litre. It's such a capable off roading machine, it got nice infotainment cluster packed with features. Finally I would say that the Royal Enfield hit a sweet spot with this machine.
