KTM 390 Adventure And 390 Adventure X: Price Increased
The KTM 390 Adventure X is now costlier than the top-spec Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

Quick Highlights:
-
Earlier, Bajaj Auto had announced that it will absorb all the GST impact on 400cc bikes
-
It’s not surprising that the move was just a temporary measure as now the price hike is as per the new GST rates
-
Price hike varies between Rs 22,000 to 27,000, depending on the variant
KTM India has increased the prices of the 390 Adventure and 390 Adventure X by Rs 26,999 and Rs 22,410 respectively. Bajaj Auto had previously announced that it would absorb the impact of the increased GST on 400cc bikes. Given that this move was supposed to be a temporary measure, especially considering the festive demand, it’s not really surprising, as the prices have been increased now. Take a look at the full price table:
|
KTM Bikes |
New Ex-Showroom Price |
Old Ex-Showroom Price |
|
KTM 390 Adventure |
Rs 3,94,699 |
Rs 3,67,700 |
|
KTM 390 Adventure X |
Rs 3,26,178 |
Rs 3,03,768 |
It’s interesting to note that these revised prices are almost similar to our estimated price of KTM bikes calculated earlier, before Bajaj announced that it would absorb the GST impact. This clearly indicates that the current hike is mainly due to the GST 2.0 reforms. While the price hike will sting customers, the two adventure bikes still offer fantastic value for money.

The KTM 390 Adventure remains one of the most powerful bikes in its class, combined with its impressive off-road capability. It also comes loaded with technology and features such as tubeless spoked wheels, a bidirectional quickshifter, cruise control, switchable cornering ABS, switchable traction control, ride modes, and more. It continues to provide a great balance between being a fun tourer and a capable off-roader. On the other hand, the KTM 390 Adventure X is a more road-focused adventure bike that can still handle mild off-road sessions. KTM updated the 390 Adventure X a few months ago, and it now gets all the essential electronics including cruise control, ride modes, and switchable traction control. This has made the bike quite versatile and value-packed for those looking for a budget 390 Adventure.

Earlier, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 got costlier as soon as the GST 2.0 norms came into effect, so at that time, with KTM deciding to absorb the GST hike made the 390 Adventure X cheaper than the top-end Himalayan variant. However, that’s not the case now as the cheaper 390 Adventure variant is Rs 6,496 costlier than the top-end Hanle Black variant. This sudden jump in price could also lead to a slight dip in sales for both KTM models, especially in a segment where value plays a major role in buying decisions.
What remains to be seen now is whether Bajaj Auto will extend this price hike to the rest of its 400cc lineup as well. For the moment, it’s a matter of waiting, and watching how the company responds and how the market reacts in the coming weeks. Ready to Adventure.I also have a Duke, Adv has covered all the issues which I have faced on Duke when I use to go on long rides, Ride is also plush coupled with a great engine which proves itself on all grounds. Also it has a decent fuel efficiency considering its engine performance. Bike's comfortable its mileage is also good I get a decent range, but the engine won't feel as raw as BS4 duke, great electronics and safety. Just having engine oil consumption on higher side. Also the Trampler tyres give more life than Turanzas which came initially. Long hauling person should definitely buy this bike, long rides are so hassle free. And comfortable, also if you have to carry any luggage they have provided good anchoring points. Tieing a back pack or a duffle bag is easy.Read More
