And it is not an electric motorcycle like we expected

Images of the new BSA bike have surfaced online ahead of its official unveiling on December 4 at the 2021 NEC Birmingham Motorcycle show. Likely to be called the BSA Gold Star, the new bike is the first product from the brand in over 40 years, with the ‘Gold Star’ moniker being revived after 70 years.

The leaked shots leave less to be speculated. It is an out-and-out British retro roadster that bears resemblance to the Triumph Bonneville T120. From the flat, long tank and the retro-styled seat to the generous chrome treatment all around and the pea-shooter exhaust, everything screams British.

The ergonomics too seem easy-going with wide handlebars and slightly forward-set footpegs. And just like one would expect from a retro British bike, BSA has equipped it with a twin-pod instrument cluster, likely to be an analog unit with a digital inlay.

Though details are bleak at the moment, the bike seems to be powered by a liquid-cooled 650cc parallel-twin engine. We expect this motor to be tuned for more torque, as expected from a bike of this segment.

The upcoming BSA bike features telescopic fork and preload-adjustable dual shocks. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes at both ends, aided by dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle runs on wire-spoke rims, seemingly 18-inch units

The BSA Motorcycles’ bike will lock horns with the Royal Interceptor 650 in the United Kingdom where it will be officially unveiled tomorrow. While its India debut is still uncertain, the bike was spotted testing in India earlier this year, so the possibility of an India debut cannot be ruled out.
