Hero MotoCorp has been in the news for the last couple of months for one reason or the other. The company was able to achieve good sales figures of their two wheelers in the previous quarter and hence achieved substantial profits post the end of its collaboration with Honda. Later HMC decided to tie up with Eric Buell Racing, which supported them in the production of higher displacement bikes for the times to come. The HMC leap that was displayed in the Auto Expo was solely the concept of EBR. The leap is actually a hybrid scooter and it was in the news during the Auto Expo. Currently, the company is planning to enter into the two wheeler market of Latin America and Africa. This strategy of the company was declared when it broke up with Honda but then no action was take about it at that time.

However, now there are again strong reports about the company planning on taking this step. Hero MotoCorp, which is the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, is now going to enter into the global market in a few months time by starting exports to Africa (East and West) and Latin America. The company will use the brand name Hero MotoCorp for this. This strategy of exports is being considered as the company's plan to enter into the global market and compensate for the losses that it incurred after parting away with Honda. It will also help them to increase their business internationally.

The company might also target South East Asia where companies like Bajaj and TVS Motors are already a dominant force in the two-wheeler market. As stated by the MD and CEO of the company, Mr. Pawan Munjal, initially only the CD series, Hunk and CBZ extreme will enter the Latin American and African market. They might also plan on setting up assembly lines in these countries. All the Hero Honda products from the international market will completely be replaced with the Hero MotoCorp products. The company is aiming to sell around 1 million bikes globally by 2016-17, which would turn out to be around 10% of its 10 billion USD revenue which it targets by the end of 2020.
