Yamaha is going to add another big chapter to its history in India on 30th June, 2014. After introducing the version 2.0 of its flagship bike in India, YZF-R15, the company is going to use the similar strategy with its another popular product, FZS. Instead of another new paint scheme this time, the company is launching next gen FZS. The bike is speculated to be called FZS Ver. 2.0 and it will get some major updates over the current model.

The new Yamaha FZS will look vast different from the existing model with lots of cosmetic changes like fuel tank, side panels, seat cowl, tank cowls, engine cowl, front visor and headlamp. The company has also tweaked the mid-ship muffler, and now it also gets chrome garnishing. The countered seat has been replaced by split type unit with revised rear grab rails. The console remains fully digital, however, design has been changed from small multi-screens to single, big one.

Powering the updated Yamaha FZS is the same 153cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which powers the current version. However, it is expected to get some advanced technology and tuning. The company might introduce fuel injection with the version 2.0 with power tuning to enhance both the power and efficiency. With these upgrades, the machine can deliver around 15bhp of maximum power.

The Yamaha FZS Version 2.0 will share other major parts with the version 1.0 including the alloy wheels, tyres, front disc and rear drum brakes, front telescopic forks and rear monocross suspension. Cosmetic updated might add a little extra to the costing of the bike. However, if introduced, technical update (EFI) will surely add at least Rs. 6,000-8,000 to its price tag, which will be worthy for increased power and efficiency.
