The 100cc-110cc ‘commuter’ motorcycle segment has been the bread and butter of multiple brands. And yet they are far from barebones offerings, with bikes like the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec and TVS Radeon packing LCD clusters, and the TVS Star City Plus even offering a USB charger.

Starting off with affordability, the Hero HF 100 comes in at Rs 56,968, with the base variants of the TVS Radeon and Hero HF Deluxe (Rs 59,925 and Rs 59,990, respectively) the only other bikes under Rs 60,000. The costliest here, meanwhile, is the Hero Passion Xtec

Speaking now of features, all motorcycles here offer alloy wheels, with some other features – like LED DRLs, a combined braking system, side stand engine cut-off, and semi-analogue consoles – also quite common. Hence, bikes like the Hero Splendor Plus and Passion Xtec, which offer all the above kit along with fully digital consoles and bluetooth connectivity (though only for call and message alerts) are appreciated. Besides, Hero is the only bikemaker which offers a stop-start system (i3S) as standard in their lineup, which translates to great fuel efficiency figures. Speaking of which, our testing yielded commendable fuel efficiency numbers from the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec, detailed in our review

And finally to safety, where the Bajaj Platina 110 is the only one which offers ABS. And yet, it’s not the costliest bike here, coming in at Rs 72,224 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Ultimately, though, the idea of a commuter bike is a no-frills, tough and lightweight bike which can handle the rigours of daily use. And all the bikes in today’s list check those boxes. So, in the long list we’ve compiled today, which bike would you go for? We’d love to know. And on that note, do consider subscribing to our Youtube channel as well.

Most durable in 110cc class.

Most durable and well built. But the Radeon has an advantage over it's rivals and that's the exhaust note with quite nice engine performance for a 110cc and looks are balance between style and practicality. Very economical over long term usage. Excellent for small business and load carrying capacity because of it's robust built quality. Cons: Breaking could be better. Seat foam hardens over time making it uncomfortable.Read More
