Upcoming BMW F 450 R Streetfighter: Here’s How It Might Look

BMW Motorrad recently teased its upcoming naked motorcycle on its official Instagram page. The silhouette seems to be of the BMW F 450 R, which is going to be the brand's most affordable streetfighter, once launched. Here is everything you need to know:

Design

The F 450 R will be based on the same platform as the F 450 GS but will have a different styling. It might take design inspirations from the BMW F 900 R (available internationally) but should look more compact just like the now-discontinued BMW G 310 R.

As per the teased image, the bike appears to have a sculpted tank and long tank extensions, which should give it a muscular appeal. There is also evidence that the bike is going to have an underbelly exhaust, a short, upswept tail section, and no windscreen, making it look more compact and slightly athletic as well. 

Engine And Underpinnings

The BMW F 450 R will most-likely have the  same 420 cc engine as the BMW F 450 GS but could get a different tuning to suit its character. The bike might share the chassis and braking components with the BMW F 450 GS as well, with a road-focused suspension setup and 17-inch wheels at both ends. 

Features

The BMW F 450 R is expected to have the same set of features as the F 450 GS. It could get the 6.5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity, SMS/call alerts and navigation. Along with this, it is also expected to get a ride-by-wire throttle, a bidirectional quickshifter, tyre pressure monitoring system, ride modes and much more.

Expected Launch Date and Rivals

The BMW F 450 R will be globally unveiled on October 1, 2026, and is expected to launch by 2027. However, BMW has not confirmed the exact launch date yet. 

This street fighter is likely to be priced around Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the Aprilia Tuono 457.
