Overview
After unveiling the BMW F 450 GS at EICMA 2025, BMW recently announced that the brand is about to discontinue the 310 series completely. The place will then be taken by an all-new motorcycle range based on the BMW 420cc engine. After the F 450 GS, the brand is expected to launch a streetfighter bike.
Design
The BMW F 450 R is expected to share the aggressive and sharp design, inspired by the larger S1000 R. The bike is also expected to be compact, like the G310 R. Along with all these styling elements, BMW’s sporty and striking colour options will make the bike aesthetically complete.
Features
The BMW F 450 R is expected to carry all the features seen on the F 450 GS. Starting with a 6.5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity, SMS/call alerts and navigation. Along with this, it is expected to get a ride-by-wire throttle, bidirectional quickshifter, ride modes and more.
Performance
The BMW F 450 R is expected to get the same, 420cc motor as the GS. It produces 48PS, 43Nm and will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox. BMW is expected to give this bike slightly different tuning to suit its streetfighter character.
Expected Launch Timeline, Rivals & Price
The BMW F 450 R is expected to be unveiled at EICMA 2026, followed by the official launch in 2027. Currently the sub-450cc bike market is ruled by the Aprilia Tuono 457, and at Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom) expected price, the BMW F 450 R is going to be more expensive than it.
