Five Bikes From EICMA 2019 That Will Make Its Way To India By 2020

KTM 390 & 250 Adventure

After much anticipation, KTM has finally unveiled the 390 Adventure at this year’s EICMA. The Austrian bikemaker is likely to launch the bike in India in December this year, and it could be priced around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). It packs a ton of kit from an adjustable, long-travel suspension setup to a full-colour TFT screen as well as a couple of rider aids. The KTM 390 Adventure is powered by the same 373.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that’s seen on the 390 Duke. It’s capable of generating 43.5PS at 9000rpm and 37Nm at 7000rpm. While the 390 Adventure basked in glory at EICMA, the KTM 250 Adventure opted for a less pompous reveal. It’s expected to be launched alongside the 390 Adventure and priced more competitively. 

2020 Husqvarna Vitpilen & Svartpilen 401:

The Huskies have been a long time coming. We’ve already seen the Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401 being put through their paces on India roads, and from the looks of it, they’ve learned a thing or two. Simply put, the pillion seat didn’t have enough room earlier, which pushed Husqvarna to rework the bolt-on subframe for the Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401. This extends the rear seat by 40mm for improved pillion comfort. Additional changes come in the form of new paint options for both bikes. Aside from this, the bikes remain unchanged.

CFMoto 700CL-X Range:

Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer CFMoto unveiled the all-new 700CL-X at EICMA 2019. The CFMoto 700CL-X will be available in India by late 2020 and will be offered in three variants: ‘Adventure’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Heritage’. Even though all three bikes cater to different genres, they are powered by the same 692.2cc parallel-twin engine. CFMoto claims the unit is capable of belting out 75PS of power and 66Nm of peak torque. It’s also likely to be Euro 5/BS6-ready and it comes paired with a slipper-clutch. Head here for more details.

Benelli Leoncino 800

Benelli took the sheets off the Leoncino 800 ahead of its official unveiling at the 2019 EICMA. The bike shares its powerplant with the Benelli 752S, and as a result, gets the same bore and stroke configuration. That said, the Leoncino 800’s mill has been tweaked to produce more power. 

To put things into perspective, it produces 81.5PS at 9000rpm and 67Nm 6500rpm. To draw a comparison, the 752S’ puts out 76.1PS at 8500rpm and 67Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is Euro 5-compliant and will be available in international markets by mid-2020. The India, launch, on the other hand, is expected to take place around October 2020. Kawasaki Z900:

The Z900 has received a major update for MY2020. It now follows Kawasaki’s ‘Sugomi’ styling, keeping it in line with other models in the streetfighter range. Apart from the all-new headlight, the Z900 also features a new LED tail light. It also gets a revised fuel tank design and features new extensions that make it look sharper than before.
