Top 5 Affordable Performance Bike Launches In 2026

2025 was an absolute blockbuster year for two-wheeler launches. We saw everything from superbikes, and adventure motorcycles to scooters, and commuters. Expectations are equally high for 2026 as well. Here’s our list of the top five affordable performance bikes that could be launched in India this year.

KTM RC 160

Expected Price: Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom)

After launching the compact and fun, 160 Duke in India, KTM is all set to introduce the fully-faired RC 160, in early 2026. This 160cc KTM bike was spotted testing recently, and the spy shots suggest that it will feature a design similar to the bigger KTM RC 200. The KTM RC 160 will be powered by the same 164.2cc liquid-cooled engine as the 160 Duke, and will likely use the same underpinnings as well. That said, the ergonomics will be similar to the RC200 - sporty and committed.

Hero Karizma XMR 250

Expected Price: Rs 2,00,000 (ex-showroom)

The Hero Karizma XMR 250 was showcased at EICMA 2025. Compared to the bike which was unveiled earlier, this version gets ride-by-wire throttle and cruise control, similar to the recently updated Hero Xtreme 160R 4V. The XMR 250 will be powered by the same 249cc single-cylinder engine as the Hero Xtreme 250R and is also expected to share its chassis and suspension setup. After a lot of delay, it is now expected to be launched in early 2026.

TVS Apache RTX 300-Based Naked Bike

Expected Price: Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom)

In October 2025, TVS Motor Company launched the Apache RTX 300 in India. It is the brand’s first adventure motorcycle, powered by the all-new RT-XD4 300cc engine. This year, TVS is likely to introduce a streetfighter motorcycle based on the Apache RTX 300, which could also replace the Apache RTR 310. It is expected to use the same engine with a different state of tune, along with a reworked chassis and a long list of features, just like the RTX 300. Along with this, the bike is also expected to be as affordable as the RTX 300.

Updated Yamaha R15

Expected Price: Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Yamaha R15 has been one of the most popular entry-level sportbikes in India, with four generations launched so far. It’s been long enough since the V4 came out, so we hope  Yamaha launches an updated version with refreshed styling and added features this year. The current Yamaha R15 V4 already offers a TFT console, two riding modes, switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS, and a quickshifter. The upcoming version could get a bidirectional quickshifter, as the current one is capable of only upshifts.

Recently Yamaha also trademarked the YZF-R2 in India, which will come with a 200cc engine and similar power figures as the KTM RC 200. While it’s expected to be launched in 2027, we hope Yamaha previews the bike this year.

Updated Honda CB300R

Expected Price: Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom)

Honda discontinued the CB300R in India, presumably due to poor sales. However, rumours suggest that an updated Honda CB300R could be launched this year. If true, a more feature-rich and competitively priced CB300R could attract buyers. Earlier, the bike’s high price was one of the main reasons for its limited success. This time around, if Honda gets the pricing right, the CB300R could perform well, especially given Honda’s strong reputation for reliability. As far as the updates are concerned, expect Honda to tweak the engine to comply with E20 (or perhaps more) fuel norms, a new TFT connected console, and perhaps a basic traction control system (not that it needs one, but as a value addition) as well.
