    Details

    • The R2 gets a new design which takes inspiration from its bigger international sibling, the R9.

    • The R2 gets a redesigned front end with a new LED headlight and sporty LED turn indicators.

Overall, both the R2 and the R15 look pretty similar, and we would have liked the R2 to have a bit more differentiation.

    Details

    • The R2 gets a bigger engine than the R15 and makes significantly more power and torque.

    • The R2 engine does not get the VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) that the smaller R15 does.

    • Both bikes come with a 6-speed gearbox; the R2 comes with a bidirectional quickshifter in the mid and top variants, while the R15 has an up-only quickshifter in the top-spec M variant.

    • We know that R15’s engine likes to be revved and makes all its power at higher RPMs. This same character is expected from its elder sibling to have a good top-end performance.

    BikeDekho Says

The Yamaha YZF-R2 is a significant upgrade over the R15, with its bigger, more powerful engine, new chassis, updated underpinnings, and more features. However, it costs significantly more as well.

The R15, on the other hand, has been one of India’s most capable sportbikes and will still hold its ground. If you are someone who wants an engine that will keep you entertained for quite some time, wants more adjustability for your track rides, and doesn’t mind spending a little extra, the new R2 is your best bet. However, if you want the Deltabox chassis, which Yamaha is known for, and are on a budget, the R15 is still a great option from the Japanese bikemaker.

Neat condition bike with awesome road presence
This bike is very good while daily riding is the main factor as the mileage is very good like 43 kmpl in city traffic and the maintenance cost is very low if you ride the bike properly. Also the road presence particularly of this edition is great. If you wish to look good while getting an optimum performance then you can definitely go for it. In my case this bike is in neat condition without any damages or missing parts. All the services done on time and so the warranty is valid.
