All-New Bajaj Pulsar 150 Vs Honda Unicorn: Price Comparison

The all-new Bajaj Pulsar 150 was recently launched in India at a starting price of Rs 1,15,223 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It gets an all-new design, engine, frame, a monoshock suspension, and loads of new features. Here’s how it stacks up compared to the Honda Unicorn.

The base variants of both the bikes are almost similarly priced, with the Pulsar LCD single seat being Rs 178 more expensive than the Unicorn. However, the top-spec Pulsar 150 TFT split seat is Rs 8,142 more expensive.

Bajaj Pulsar 150

The Pulsar 150 gets an all-new design, a new LED headlight and a muscular fuel tank with aggressive tank shrouds. It also gets a redesigned tail section, which is a lot sleeker than before. The higher variants get LED indicators while the base gets halogen indicators.

The Pulsar 150 is available in five colour options: Saffire Blue, Ebony Black Ink Blue, Black Magenta Red, Fury Red, and Pearl Metallic White.

It is powered by an all-new 150cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 14 PS and 14.1 Nm. It gets a 5-speed gearbox and three riding modes: Road, Rain and Sport

In terms of features, it comes with either a 5-inch LCD screen or a 5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts as standard. The top-spec TFT variant adds Google Maps mirroring, document storage and music controls. In terms of safety features, the bike gets single-channel ABS as standard, along with a hazard light switch on the top variants.

Honda Unicorn 

The Honda Unicorn gets a much simpler design. There is an LED headlight, a simple headlight cowl, a sculpted fuel tank and a long single-piece seat. The overall styling has remained unchanged over the years, which gives the Unicorn a familiar and understated look.

The bike is available in three colour options: Matt Axis Grey, Metallic Pearl Igneous Black and Radiant Red Metallic.

It is powered by a 162.71cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 13.18 PS and 14.8 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and is tuned primarily for smooth and linear power delivery.

In terms of features, the Unicorn gets an LCD instrument console and a USB Type-C charging port. However, there is no Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, or riding modes on offer. The bike comes with single-channel ABS as a safety feature.

The Pulsar 150 is the sportier and more feature-loaded option, with sharper styling and more power than the Unicorn. The Unicorn 160, on the other hand, is a simple no-nonsense commuter with a smooth and refined engine, predictable city handling, and good mileage.

If you want a sportier motorcycle with more features, the Pulsar makes more sense, but if you are looking for a simple commuter with good fuel economy and comfort, the Unicorn makes a good case for itself.
