TVS Apache RTR 160 4V USD with TFT: Detailed Explainer
This is the top-end variant, and it gets so many features that it puts even some costlier bikes to sham

The Apache RTR 160 4V with USD and TFT is the most feature-packed one from the TVS. This variant is priced at Rs 1,39,440 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This trim sits above the Single-Channel ABS (Rs 1.26 lakh) and the Dual-Channel ABS with USD fork (Rs 1.32 lakh) variants, making it the flagship of TVS’s 160cc lineup.
For a premium of roughly Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 over the mid-spec model, you get a couple of important features. We analyse whether it’s worth it or not:
Design & Styling

No changes here, as the design is the same as the other variants. The projector headlight in the latest-gen bike is a practical addition, but we feel it looks somewhat similar to the Bajaj Pulsar N160. We liked the older headlight better, but that shouldn’t really be a dealbreaker for most. What sets this variant apart visually is the exclusive Marine Blue colour scheme, though Racing Red and Matte Black are also available. Of course, there are other premium finishes such as the golden inverted fork, coloured alloy wheels, and race-themed graphics.
Features
The single biggest upgrade is the 5-inch connected TFT cluster, which is exclusive to this variant. This one offers turn-by-turn navigation, detailed ride analytics, and telemetry. Ride analytics include trip details, whereas telemetry includes acceleration time, top speed recording, and the likes. Of course, there’s turn-by-turn navigation too, and it also directs you to the nearest petrol pump when you run low on fuel.
Since it’s already a TFT console, we’d like to see a Google Maps mirroring functionality, especially now that its main rival, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 SS has it. Who knows, perhaps TVS might just update it soon, now that Bajaj has made the move.
The lower variants also get Bluetooth connectivity, and related features, but the information is laid out on an LCD console. The bike includes three ride modes (Sport, Urban, Rain) and low-rpm assist for crawling in traffic - all standard across the range. However, only this top variant pairs these modes with a full suite of electronics. The 3-step adjustable levers are a nice touch too as it helps riders with different hand sizes to adjust to the levers accordingly.
Safety & Hardware

The standout safety feature, exclusive to the TFT variant, is the traction control system. While this is a bit of an overkill for a small-capacity bike, it will come in handy for newer riders or for those riding in extremely slippery or wet surfaces. Like the variant below, this one also has dual-channel ABS. Slip-and-assist clutch is common across all variants, which reduces the lever effort, and also prevents the rear wheel from locking up while downshifting aggressively.
Engine & Performance

It’s important to know that choosing the top variant doesn’t get you any extra power. The engine is identical across all three variants of the Apache RTR 160 4V. You get the same 159.7cc, air-oil-cooled, 4-valve engine. The motor is properly peppy and the bike is quite fun to ride.
BikeDekho Says
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V's top-spec variant is built for a specific rider: one who craves to get the best of the best. Only to such riders the TFT console, traction control and the more premium-looking shades are worth it. If you’re seeking a value-for-money variant that doesn’t compromise on usable features, you’re better off with the Dual Channel ABS with USD variant as it still has navigation and other important goodies.
