Upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 vs Royal Enfield Hunter 350: Differences Explained
There’s going to be a significant price difference between these roadsters

The upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 was recently spotted testing in India, and the spy shots reveal a lot about this new roadster. When it is launched, one of its rivals will be the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Based on what we know so far about the baby Bonnie, here are some differences between the two bikes:
Design

Both bikes have a retro styling, but their personalities are clearly distinct. The Triumph Bonneville 400 is expected to be a proper retro roadster, staying true to Triumph’s heritage, with classic proportions. It features a teardrop shaped metal fuel tank, minimalistic side panels, a flat seat, and long fenders. Overall, the design is expected to feel premium and timeless, closely resembling its bigger Bonneville siblings.

In contrast, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 takes a more contemporary route. It is a modern-retro roadster with a compact stance, short wheelbase, and slightly sportier ergonomics. Its styling feels more playful, because of the vibrant colour schemes, and an overall youthful design.
Engine

The Bonneville 400 is expected to be powered by Triumph’s new 349cc, liquid-cooled engine. It will most likely get the same engine tune as the Speed T4, making 31PS and 27Nm. It should have a refined and smooth power delivery with a slightly more performance-oriented character.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350, on the other hand, uses a 349cc, air cooled J-series engine producing 20.2PS and 27Nm. This engine is tuned for relaxed riding, with strong low-end torque and a laid-back nature that suits everyday city use. While both bikes have similar displacement figures, the difference in output and refinement is expected to be significant. The Bonneville will feel more powerful, while the Hunter 350 focuses on simplicity and ease of use.
Underpinnings

The spy shots reveal that the Bonneville 400 will have an all-new frame, along with a conventional telescopic fork, and twin rear shock absorbers. It also gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Also, the bike is expected to get 17-inch spoked wheels, with tubed tyres.

The Hunter 350 also uses a simple setup with telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. It has disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS on the top variant. The Base and the Base Premium variants get a front disc and a rear drum brake, with single-channel ABS. All the variants have 17-inch wheels – alloys on top & Base Premium, and spoked wheels with tubed tyres on the Base variant.
Features

When it comes to features, the Bonneville 400 is expected to have the upper hand. The test bike was seen with a round digital console, most-likely a TFT unit. This is completely different from what the current 400s have. It is expected to have smartphone connectivity for phone alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
The Hunter 350 keeps things relatively simple. It features a semi-digital console with Tripper navigation pod standard from the mid variant. This roadster also gets dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch. Here is our quick explainer of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 features.

The price difference between the two roadsters is quite significant. However, the Bonneville should be more powerful, and offer more features as well. Check out how much the Hunter 350 costs on-road in top 5 major cities in India.
BikeDekho Says
The Bonneville 400 is likely to feature premium components, have a richer console than its siblings, and will stay true Bonneville styling. On the other hand, the Hunter 350 has a more youthful styling, an easy-to-ride character that will appeal to beginners as well, and a more affordable price tag. The choice between the two bikes will depend on how much the Bonneville is actually priced at, and how it performs in the real world. It’s expected to be launched in June 2026. If you have your heart set on the Bonneville, you might want to wait. However, if you want to own a bike now, the Hunter is a choice you won’t go wrong with.
User Reviews
Royal enfield the build machineMy first preference is short height bike because it's easy to handle it plus maintenance was so reliable. As per compare to the other with the same segment Hunter is far better then others. I really love to ride royal enfield bikes. For the city riding you love it like handling was very amazing plus throttle response is very amazing. For the lobby route you can adjust your seat or add some cusion over the seat or buy the new seat. For the city purpose you can buy this bike only. As I have a classic 350 and metor. l really like to ride hunter only because that machine is more powerfull as compared to other RE machine like the engine sound and silencer sound without changing any parts it shows the old version one.Read More
