EXCLUSIVE: Upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 Spotted Testing Again
Iconic Bonneville styling in a smaller package

The upcoming Triumph Bonneville 400 has been spotted testing on an Indian highway. The new spyshots give us a much clearer look at what it gets.
The new photos confirm that the Bonneville 400 will stay true to the iconic Bonneville design language. The overall stance looks upright and relaxed, suggesting a focus on comfortable rides. For India, the Bonneville gets some additional bits like a saree guard and engine guard, as compared to the model spotted abroad.

The test bike seems to have a round headlight, an oval-shaped tail-light, and circular indicators — all LED. While the body panels are covered right now, we can expect them to look rather clean and simple, staying true to the bigger Bonneville’s styling. The tear-drop shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat, round mirrors, circular instrument console, telescopic fork, and twin rear shock absorbers give the bike an old-school appearance. Also, this bike has blacked-out rear grab rails, instead of chrome ones on the earlier spyshots. This could mean that that the Bonneville will have different colour options with varying prices.
While Triumph has not officially revealed specifications yet, the Bonneville 400 in India is expected to be powered by a new 349cc single-cylinder engine, probably with the same tune as the Triumph Speed T4, producing 29PS and 31Nm. The chassis is also different from what the rest of the Triumph 400 range has; this one has conventional front fork and twin rear shocks.

The new spyshots indicate that the baby Bonnie is getting closer to its launch — probably in the next couple months. Once launched, the Bonneville 400 will compete against the likes of Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, and Jawa 350.
