The V2’s more affordable, family-oriented sibling is finally here

    Quick News Highlights:

    • Launched at a starting price of Rs 59,540 (ex-showroom)

    • Gets battery-as-a-service option to lower the initial cost

    • Available in 2 variants: Plus and Go

Hero has launched the Vida VX2 electric scooter priced starting from Rs 59,540 (ex-showroom). It is positioned as the more affordable, family-friendly alternative to the existing Vida V2. With multiple variants and the battery subscription model, Hero aims to make its electric scooters more accessible to a wider audience.

    Pricing & Variants

The Vida VX2 is available in two variants: the top-spec ‘Plus’ and the base-spec ‘Go’. The starting price of Rs 59,540 is with BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service), and it costs Rs 99,490 to buy outright for the base ‘Go’ variant. It costs Rs 64,990 and Rs 1,09,990 respectively for the top-spec ‘Plus’ version (all prices ex-showroom).

    Design

The Vida VX2 carries forward the same styling that was originally seen on the Vida Z concept showcased at EICMA last year in November 2024, and also at Bharat Mobility Global Expo (Auto Expo 2025) this year. Unlike the sharper and sportier Vida V2, the VX2 focuses on a more family-oriented look with a single-piece seat, simpler body panels, and is offered in seven colours: Nexus Blue, Metallic Grey, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black, and Pearl Red. The Grey and Orange are only available with the Plus variant. Interestingly, it uses the same headlight and tail light as the V2.

    Motor

Powering the electric scooter is a frame-mounted 6kW electric motor. The Plus gets 3 ride modes: Eco, Ride, Sports; has a top speed of 80kmph and can do 0-40kmph in 3.1 seconds. The Go meanwhile misses out on the Sports mode and can hit 70kmph in Ride mode and can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 4.2 seconds. The top speed is reduced to 45kmph in Eco mode for both.

    Battery

The Plus gets 2 battery packs with a total capacity of 3.4kWh, an IDC (India Driving Cycle) range of 142km, and a 0-100% charging time of 5h 39min. Meanwhile, the Go gets a single 2.2kWh battery with a 92km range and a 3h 43min 0-100% charge time. Both get removable and IP67-rated batteries and take 120min for 0-100% with a fast charger.

    Underpinnings

The VX2 is built on the same platform as the Vida V2, consisting of a tubular frame, 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, a telescopic fork, a monoshock, and seat height of 777mm. Depending on the variant, you either get a front disc or drum, and a rear drum brake - paired with CBS (combined braking system). The Plus gets a 27.2-litre underseat boot, while the Go gets 33.2 litres, and both get a front cubby hole with 6.1-litres of space.

    Features

In terms of features, the Vida VX2 comes equipped with all-LED lighting, a 4.3-inch console (LCD for Go and TFT in Plus) with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, range and ride data. Additional features include remote immobilization, live scooter location tracking via GPS, a USB charging port, and a joystick-style controller located on the left switchgear for easy navigation through the menus. Notably, the VX2 comes with a traditional key setup instead of a remote keyfob found on the V2.

    Rivals

The new Vida VX2 will take on other affordable ‘premium’ electric scooters in the sub Rs 1 lakh segment like the Bajaj Chetak 3001, TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, and the Honda QC1.

    BikeDekho Says

The Vida V2 was already cheaper than its rivals with a starting price of Rs 74,000 (ex-showroom), and the VX2 has managed to undercut even that due to BaaS. With this, Hero aims to broaden its presence and sales in the electric scooter space as the V2 has not managed to stay on par with its rivals in terms of sales. All said and done, the e-scooter’s success also depends on how affordable the battery subscription scheme is. Honda learnt from its mistake with the Honda Activa e:’s subscription pricing. We hope Vida took note of this, and hope it comes with a sensible pricing structure. We’ll update the story once we get to know the particulars, so stay tuned.

      great purchase
I explored a lot of options but selected this scooter because it had everything that i was looking for, easy to charge, baas service makes it more affordable as compare to other brands and its competitors. looks pretty, must consider this ev as it has removable batteries which makes the charging more convenient and easy. very comfortable on bumpy roads, no problems as of now and driven in city and on highway as well I would like to consider this to everyone who is looking to buy and ev to reduce the petrol cost, this might be the good decision if you have any charging issues in the narrow home roads, feature loaded as well.

      Deal with the devil
I bought this due to hero brand associated i have visited service center multiple time experience was not good but if you compare to ola or any other brand it was decent the company send their vehicle to lift it and replace parts freely if you have 5 year extended warranty Ride so far is good I enjoyed driving it sometimes i face problems like secondary battery issue display issues rear rim damage rear brake drum change 3 times but all this happened bcz we drive it a lot i have driven 14000 km in 1 year I would say definitely go for it ev is in evolving phase yet they are much cheaper than petrol and as there are uncertainty associated with petrol prices this is best option no service required only basic maintainance.
