Thanks to cheap running costs and affordable maintenance, electric scooters have been getting more popular of late in India. Based on the sales data of May 2025 from SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) that we got our hands on, here’s a list of top 5 best-selling electric scooters in India:

The TVS iQube Electric has got all the fundamentals right: neutral design, reasonable performance, different variants at different price points, and a good set of features. With 27,642 units sold just in May 2025, it witnessed a small surge of 0.13% in Month-On-Month (Mom) sales numbers when compared with April 2025. Year-On-Year (YoY) sales have grown by a whopping 60.42% when compared with May 2024.
The TVS iQube is offered in three variants: iQube, iQube S and iQube ST and its prices start from Rs 94,434 (effective ex-showroom price, Delhi). In May 2025, the iQube also received an update with slightly larger battery packs and is now offered in 2.2kWh, 3.5kWh and 5.3kWh battery packs, depending on the variants.

Bajaj sold 25,540 units of the Chetak in May 2025, driving the MoM sales up by about 32.91% when compared to last month. The YoY sales numbers though, have shown a very impressive growth in sales with 98.29% increase.
Bajaj launched the most affordable Chetak yet, the Chetak 3001 this month, and this might tip the scales in Bajaj’s favour (when it comes to sales) in the upcoming months.

The Ather Rizta is a family-oriented electric scooter from Ather Energy. Since its launch back in April 2024, the Rizta’s sales have been steadily increasing. It comes with a 35 litre boot space (one of the largest in segment), making it a great choice for those looking for a practical electric scooter.
Ather sold 11,534 Riztas in the month of May 2025, a healthy increase of 14.74% in MoM sales. As far as YoY sales numbers are concerned, the Rizta’s deliveries didn’t begin till July 2024, hence it’s not applicable in Rizta’s case.

Hero MotoCorp’s electric sub-brand – Vida, has a single product in its line-up the Vida V2. It sold 8,361 units of the Vida V2 in May 2025, a 17.49% increase in MoM sales. But, when compared to May 2024, the YoY sales have shown a significant increase of 129.69% showing increasing popularity of the e-scooter. Furthermore, Hero will be launching the VX2 range in July, so expect the overall sales figures from Vida to go further up in the subsequent months.

The Ather 450X is one of the most popular sporty electric scooters in India. While it may not be as popular as family-oriented electric scooters, it still sells well in India with 3,420 units sold in May 2025. That’s a 32.14% increase in MoM sales when compared to April 2025. That said, the YoY sales have declined by 17.23%. Looks like customers prefer the Rizta’s practicality over the sheer performance of the Ather 450X.

- My opinionIt has clean finishing good looking, thin having, good mileage, having better features than any other petrol scooter, it is electric vehicle it is sports scooter so it has modes too fast charging service centre is available. I had done something around 12000 km driven this scooter for long ride it isn't good it is slightly uncomfortable it could give you back pain and scooter may could get heat if you are riding in the summer weather. This scooter isn't for long ride but if you want this for going to college, school or for work it's good vehicle. This scooter looks attractive and has good enough speed to reach the destination. - Deal with the devilI bought this due to hero brand associated i have visited service center multiple time experience was not good but if you compare to ola or any other brand it was decent the company send their vehicle to lift it and replace parts freely if you have 5 year extended warranty Ride so far is good I enjoyed driving it sometimes i face problems like secondary battery issue display issues rear rim damage rear brake drum change 3 times but all this happened bcz we drive it a lot i have driven 14000 km in 1 year I would say definitely go for it ev is in evolving phase yet they are much cheaper than petrol and as there are uncertainty associated with petrol prices this is best option no service required only basic maintainance.Read More

We can identify the vehicle, when our aged person using this vehicle very good vehicle. Very comfortable and easy to handle in highway and rural. The sitting space is very good.
