The supercharged monster could be making a comeback!

New Kawasaki Ninja H2 Teased, Could Return With 197PS Engine

Kawasaki could be preparing to revive one of its wildest road-legal motorcycles. The Japanese manufacturer has dropped a teaser on its UK social media channels carrying the words “Return To Beyond Belief" accompanied by the unmistakable sound of a supercharged engine.

The wording is particularly interesting, as it appears to reference the original Ninja H2 family’s “Built Beyond Belief” tagline from 2014, strongly hinting that the supercharged Ninja could be returning.

A Less Powerful H2 This Time?

The Ninja H2 was introduced at EICMA 2014, followed by the track-focused H2R, and quickly established itself as one of the most outrageous production motorcycles around. Its final major update arrived in 2019, with the road-going H2 producing a whopping 228 PS.

However, the next-generation motorcycle could take a different approach. Kawasaki’s US filings previously suggested that the upcoming H2 could use a 197 PS version of the supercharged engine from the Z H2. That would make it considerably less powerful than its predecessor but potentially easier to homologate for stricter emissions regulations.

The H2 was withdrawn from the UK in 2021 following the introduction of Euro 5 emission norms, although Kawasaki continued selling it in the US.

2027 Kawasaki Ninja H2 Instrument Console

The teaser also appears to reveal a new instrument console. The setup seems to combine a TFT display with an analogue tachometer, replacing the outgoing H2’s analogue tachometer and negatively lit LCD unit. While the TFT is a welcome modern touch, we appreciate Kawasaki retaining an analogue tachometer, giving the new H2 a bit of old-school character.

    EICMA 2026 Debut Likely

Kawasaki has not confirmed what motorcycle the teaser depicts, but the timing and soundtrack make the Ninja H2 a strong possibility. If the rumors prove accurate, the revived H2 could make its global debut at this year's EICMA show, similar to how the first H2 was unveiled years back.

The previous H2 weighed a substantial 238 kg kerb, so it will be interesting to see if Kawasaki manages to shed some weight or alters its styling to make the new bike feel more like a conventional supersport.

    What About India?

An India launch remains uncertain. The Ninja H2 SX SE was the last member of the H2 family listed on Kawasaki India’s website. Kawasaki has yet to announce plans for the updated Ninja H2 in India, meaning we will have to wait for an official confirmation.
