    Quick Highlights:

    • 2027 Kawasaki Z300 launched in India

    • Gets the same engine, and underpinnings as the Ninja 300

Kawasaki has launched the all-new Z300 streetfighter in India. Priced at Rs 3.24 lakh (ex-showroom), it costs Rs 10,000 less than its faired sibling, the Ninja 300. Here is everything this new 300cc bike gets:

    Design Inspired By The Z900

    Z300

The Z300 gets a design that looks inspired by the bigger Z900. The fascia looks sharp, aggressive, and does make the bike look quite attractive. That said, the only eyesore here are the conventional halogen indicators.

    Available Colour Options

    Z300

The bike is available in 2 striking colour options which are inspired by other Kawasaki motorcycles.

    • Candy Lime Green/Ebony

    • Metallic Carbon Grey/Ebony

    Engine & Performance

The Z300 uses the same tried and tested 296 cc parallel-twin engine as the Ninja 300. It makes 39 PS, 26.1 Nm, and comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipped clutch.

At this point of time, this engine had gotten quite old, but it should still offer a linear power delivery, refinement and usable performance.

    Engine Specifications:

    • Power: 39 PS at 11,000 rpm

    • Torque: 26.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm

    • Gearbox: 6-speed

    • Clutch: Slip and assist

    Underpinnings

    Z300

It uses the same chassis as the Ninja 300, along with the conventional telescopic fork, and rear monoshock. The bike runs on the 17-inch alloy wheels, with a 110-section front, and a 140-section rear tyre. For braking duties, the brand has given this bike a 290 mm front, and 220 mm rear petal disc brake setup.

    • Front tyre size: 110/70-17

    • Rear tyre size: 140/70-17

    • Front disc size: 296 mm

    • Rear disc size: 220 mm

    • Kerb weight: 175 kg

    • Ground Clearance: 140 mm
    • Seat height: 785 mm

    Features

    Z300

For a bike launched in 2027, Kawasaki has kept the features list rather simple. The bike gets LED headlight with DRLs, along with an LED taillight. The brand has given this bike an LCD console, same as the Ninja 500, and it misses out on smartphone connectivity. For safety, the bike gets dual-channel ABS. There is no IMU, ride-by-wire throttle, ride modes, traction control, lean sensitive ABS etc, all of which its main rivals get.

    BikeDekho Says

    Z300

Currently, the sub-500 cc naked bike market in India is running quite strong. We have bikes from almost all major manufacturers, competing with each other to take the top-spot. Due to this, Kawasaki does appear to be a little late to the party with the launch of the Z300. When compared to its main rivals like the much more affordable Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Z, the TVS Apache RTR 310, and the king-of-the-hill KTM 390 Duke R. All of these rivals not only offer a more modern design, but are also loaded to the brim in terms of features. In this race, the only advantage the Z300 will offer is refinement and smoothness of a parallel-twin engine.
