From funky new variants to premium bike launches, this month was action-packed and how!
The Indian two-wheeler industry has been on a strong recovery curve in the last few months. This month witnessed a healthy bounce-back with a plethora of new model and variant launches. Here’s a quick recap:
Bajaj Auto
Bajaj Auto took advantage of the festive season by launching new, sporty-looking colour variants of its popular Pulsar NS and RS range. The Pune-based brand even made the Pulsar 125 more affordable with the launch of a drum brake variant for the Split Seat version. For those looking for a no-nonsense, feature-packed commuter motorcycle, worry not, Bajaj has launched the new CT 100 KS variant replacing the old one. You can read all about it here.
Hero MotoCorp
The festive season is a huge opportunity for Hero MotoCorp, which witnesses a considerable share of sales from rural areas. So, the brand launched a unique, customisable variant of the Splendor Plus called ‘Black And Accent’. That’s not all, Hero also launched a new, more feature-rich variant of the Glamour 125. In the scooter department, Hero MotoCorp also introduced stealthy-looking variants of the Pleasure Plus as well as the Maestro Edge 125.
Honda
Honda unveiled the H’Ness CB350 at the end of last month. But by then, it had only revealed the approximate target pricing for the Royal Enfield killer. This month, the brand announced the actual variant-wise pricing for the retro motorcycle. Here are the details.
Suzuki
Suzuki finally brought in the achingly gorgeous 2020 MotoGP livery to its 155cc and 250cc Gixxer range in India. And in a bid to enhance the desirability of Suzuki’s already-popular scooters, the Access 125 and the Burgman Street, the Japanese bikemaker launched new variants with smartphone connectivity. This is a first for Suzuki in India, and the brand is expected to carry over the feature to its motorcycle range too.
Yamaha
Yamaha too followed in Suzuki’s footsteps by launching a variant of its hugely successful FZ range, with Bluetooth-enabled smartphone connectivity. The icing on the cake is that the module can be purchased as an optional fitment with the standard variant too.
BMW Motorrad
BMW Motorrad launched the BS6-compliant versions of the two most important motorcycles in its lineup: the G 310 R and the G 310 GS. Not only are they more feature-packed and better looking, the two bikes are also massively less expensive than their predecessors.
TVS Motor Company
Marvel fans would be happy to know that homegrown auto major TVS launched the NTorq 125 SuperSquad Edition this month. It is the first scooter in India to get a proper livery inspired by the characters of a fictional universe. The brand introduced not one but three distinct colour editions based on Captain America, Iron Man and Black Panther.
Hero Electric
Hero Electric launched a new variant of its Nyx lineup, with an incredible 210km range. At a starting price of Rs 64,640, the electric scooter is reasonably affordable too. However, as you’ve guessed by seeing the image, there’s a catch.
