The newly introduced variant, which replaces the KS Alloy version, comes with a number of new, practical features

  • The new Bajaj CT 100 KS variant is around Rs 1,500 more expensive than its predecessor.
  • It gets a braced handlebar, fuel gauge, fork gaiters, tank pads and a thicker seat among other things.
  • This is the most affordable 100cc BS6 bike you can buy in India.

In a bid to add more sheen to its commuter range this festive season, Bajaj Auto has launched a new variant of the Bajaj CT100. This variant is called the Bajaj CT 100 KS and will replace the KS Alloy variant offered earlier. It gets a bunch of extra features compared to the regular KS Alloy variant and is priced at Rs 46,432 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 1,542 more expensive than the now-discontinued normal KS model. Despite the price hike, it is still the most affordable 100cc BS6-compliant motorcycle you can buy in India.

For the nominal premium, Bajaj offers a thicker, flatter seat, rubber tank pads, and bigger pillion grab rails for better comfort. It also gets braced handlebars for added stability. Practical updates include a pair of front fork gaiters, flexible, clear-lens indicators and extended rear-view mirrors. For better convenience, Bajaj is offering this variant with a fuel gauge, which was earlier reserved only for the electric start variant. Other features like the bash plate, engine guard, spring-in-spring rear suspension and alloy wheels have been carried over from the regular alloy wheel variant.

This motorcycle is powered by the same 102cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with electronic carburettor as found in the other variants. It churns out 7.9PS at 7500rpm and 8.34Nm at 5500rpm. The engine works alongside a 4-speed transmission. Braking is via a 130mm front drum and a 110mm rear drum with CBS as standard. Bajaj does not offer a front disc even in the more expensive electric start variant, presumably to keep the costs low.

As far as the competition is concerned, the Bajaj CT 100 KS will go up against the Hero Splendor Plus. In addition to the new features, the new Bajaj CT 100 KS variant also comes in three new colour options: Gloss Ebony Black, Matte Olive Green, and Gloss Flame Red. All in all, the new CT 100 KS variant is a much more well-rounded proposition than the base variant for just a small premium.
