Yamaha recently launched the 2025 R3 and R25 in the Japanese market at prices of 660,000 Yen and 628,000 Yen (approximately Rs 3.80 and Rs 3.62 lakh) respectively. Both of these motorcycles get parallel-twin engines and share the same colour options. Lets have a colour look at what these motorcycles have to offer.
Yamaha YZF R3
The 2025 Yamaha YZF R3 has been launched in Japan alongside the R25. It gets updated styling which makes the motorcycle look even more appealing than before. The sharp looking front fairing and narrow tail section complete the overall look. The motorcycle is being offered in 3 colour options: Deep Purplish Blue Metallic , Matte Dark Gray Metallic and Matte Yellowish White. We particularly liked the Matte Yellowish White paint scheme a bit more than others as it enhances the overall stance of the motorcycle. All of these shades give the Yamaha R3 an extremely desirable stance.

The updated R3 gets the same 321cc parallel-twin motor as before, which makes 42PS and 30Nm. This engine has always been praised for its linear yet engaging power delivery and reliability. It gets a 37mm inverted fork and a rear monoshock. Along with this, the sports bike also gets a 298mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc brake setup along with dual-channel ABS.

In terms of features, it gets all LED lights along with a multi-function LCD screen which shows all the necessary information and supports smartphone connectivity. The screen also shows SMS and call alerts for added convenience.
Yamaha YZF R25
The 2025 Yamaha YZF R25 uses similar styling as the bigger capacity R series motorcycles. The front fairing looks almost identical to that of the 2025 R3. The available colour options remain the same as the R3: Deep Purplish Blue Metallic , Matte Dark Gray Metallic and Matte Yellowish White.

It is powered by a 249cc parallel-twin motor which makes 35PS and 23Nm. Like the R3, this engine too has been praised for its high revving nature, linear power delivery and impressive reliability. The suspension and braking setup is similar to that of the R3 as well. The motorcycles are identical in terms of features like LED lights and LCD screen with smartphone connectivity.
BikeDekho Says
As both of these Yamaha R-series motorcycles were launched in Japan, all these updates should soon be given to the Indian spec version of the R3 as well. The R3 and R25 offer brilliant performance and Japanese reliability while looking extremely appealing. The gripe for many could be that even in 2025, these motorcycles miss out on a lot of standard features. Although the R25 won't come to India as Yamaha already sells the R3 here, and it recently got a price cut as well.
