Yamaha has filed a new design patent for the 2025 R3 in India. The new R3 comes with an updated look and is expected to arrive in India very soon. The bike is already on sale in the American and European markets.

The new 2025 Yamaha R3 gets an updated front-end design inspired by the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP bike. The new R3 now looks sharper, meaner and more aggressive than before. It gets a new single projector headlight with quad-element LED DRLs. The bike also gets an updated sleeker tail section.
Yamaha offers the R3 in three colours in the USA: Team Yamaha Blue, Matte Stealth Black, and Lunar White/Nebula Blue. In Europe, the bike is available in two colours: Icon Blue and Midnight Black.
Engine & Features
The 2025 Yamaha R3 is powered by the same tried-and-tested 321cc, liquid-cooled, inline twin-cylinder engine as the 2024 Yamaha R3, which produces 42PS at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm at 9,000rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch, as standard.
The new R3 is equipped with an LCD instrument console, offering smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. The instrument console has a blue backlight and offers call, SMS and email notifications. It also provides geofencing track and ride data through the Yamaha Y-connect app. The bike also has a USB-A charging port.
Underpinnings
The Yamaha R3 is equipped with an inverted fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. For braking, the bike uses a 298mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. The bike comes fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with tubeless tyres on both ends.
Expected Price & Launch Date
The 2025 Yamaha R3 is expected to be launched in India by the end of this year. We expect the bike to be priced with a premium of around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 over the current version which costs Rs 4,64,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
