Please Yamaha, let it just not be the updated 300s but also your larger R7 and MT-07

[UPDATE: Yamaha has launched the XSR155, and a new model in the FZ range - called the FZ Rave. The brand also unveiled two new electric scooters: Aerox-E and EC-06]

    Yamaha Big Bikes Launch

Yamaha has sent out a plain simple Block Your Date invite for November 11. No further context. What should one make of it? Nothing concrete but if we had to set some basic expectations, we should see the larger capacity Yamahas turning up.

That just doesn’t mean the likes of the updated R3 and MT-03, which were released in the European market twelve months ago, but also the R7 and MT-07. These middleweight Yamaha bikes have been shown at Auto Expo 2025. Not only that, even the design was patented in India. These bikes have been desired by a lot of Indian biking enthusiasts for years. Yamaha has been toying around with the idea of introducing these larger capacity bikes for years but to no avail.

And it has possibly picked a bad time as well as the revised GST rates are only going to hurt the R7’s and MT-07’s chances of selling in decent numbers. There will be takers for the sweet Yamahas as these 700s have been world renowned for offering an exciting, approachable and refined riding experience. The bikes have enough sophistication built in with top quality levels on offer.

The current R3 and MT-03’s prices have been reduced by up to Rs 30,000 thanks to the new GST rates. And, here’s how the new one differs from the previous version. If it is these two bikes again being launched in November, expect Yamaha to increase the asking price by a smidge. As for the MT-07 and R7, these will not be competitively priced. The naked could come bearing a Rs 10 lakh price tag with the supersport arriving at roughly Rs 12 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India).

Or, the other possibility could be the launch of Yamaha's first India-specific electric scooter. We have already seen the EV, and it's clear that it will be based on the River Indie (Yamaha has a partnership with River, the Bengaluru-based EV startup). More about it here. Whatever it is, we're certain that Yamaha's Call of the Blue will beat the blues.

Hope this new model would be nice, performance would not change from latest model. And new model looks cool and stylish. I am using R3 Latest model. Performance is clearly good and comfortable riding position in city and town. The top speed is pretty good and its raw power makes more comfortable riding. I love it.

Bike is good in handling and performance. Power to weight ratio is good Mileage is average. Speed is great. The panels make aerodynamics very much appealing due to which air drag is a lot more decreased by. Engine is also reliable and power output feels great . Vehicle torque is great but also easy to handle. Throttle response is very much appealing.
