Hero MotoCorp is going to launch a new commuter motorcycle on September 26, 2016, which will be equipped with the i3S technology.

India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp is going to launch a new commuter bike on September 26, 2016. Earlier, the company's MD and CEO, Pawan Munjal, announced that the company is going to launch 15 new products by the end of this financial year, and the upcoming line-up will include i3S-equipped versions of the Passion Pro, Super Splendor and Achiever. So, we can expect one or more from these three upcoming bikes to be launched on September 26, but speculations suggest that it will be the new Achiever i3S.

In a statement given to PTI, Pawan Munjal said, "We will have 15 new launches across segments in our domestic and global markets this fiscal, out of which three motorcycles will be introduced in the domestic market before the festive season." Further, he told that the new fleet of bikes will include the new Passion Pro, Super Splendor and the Achiever 150, and these models will be equipped with Hero's patented i3S technology.

We believe that the new bikes will also get some cosmetic updates along with the i3S technology. The models are expected to remain mechanically unchanged and continue using their respective engines. However, the i3S will help them to deliver better fuel efficiency, especially in the city riding conditions. Basically, it is an engine start-stop technology which already comes with the Splendor iSmart and iSmart 110. The system shuts down the engine while the bike is stationary for around 10 seconds on a traffic signal or some other condition and you just have to pull the clutch to restart the engine. The technology helps in saving fuel on idle running, increasing the fuel efficiency of the bike, and it is a switchable feature that can be turned off when you want it to be.

Now, let's see which bike will be launched first among the upcoming i3S-equipped range of Hero MotoCorp. But one thing is sure that most of the Hero bikes will get this technology in the near future.
