The Italian bikemaker has managed to achieve the sales landmark within 15 months of its launch in the Indian two-wheeler market.

The DSK-Benelli brand has warmly received by performance two-wheeler buyers across the country. Owing to this fact the Italian bikemaker has managed to cross sales figure of 3,000 units in the Indian market. The DSK-Benelli brand made its debut in the Indian two-wheeler market in March, 2015. According to Benelli officials the largest selling motorcycle in its portfolio is the TNT 600i which has clocked sales of over 1,000 units. Among the main factors for the popularity of the Benelli TNT600i is the fact that it is the cheapest in-line four powered motorcycle in the Indian market.

Speaking about the achievement, Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels said, “DSK Benelli has managed to carve a strong niche for itself in India’s superbike industry thanks to our emphasis on performance coupled with compelling design language. We have established our brand leadership stance on the basis of our diverse portfolio that offers superbikes at various price points. Our overall vision is to create a vibrant superbiking culture in India and help more and more riding aficionados experience the pure pleasure of owning an Italian superbike unlike any other.”

Among the main reasons for the success of the DSK-Benelli brand in India is its dealership network which currently stands at 17 and there are more 15 showrooms planned in the near future. The Italian bikemaker also recently introduced ABS version of the TNT 600i and other bikes in its portfolio will also get the benefit of ABS. Talking about future launches, officials have confirmed that the new Benelli Tornad0 302 and the Benelli TRK 502 will be launched in India by the end of this fiscal year. It currently has a manufacturing capacity of 7,500 units per annum which is expected to increase to 1 lakh units per annum by late 2017 when its new manufacturing plant becomes operational in Maharashtra.
