17 December, 2010: Vibgyor Vehicles has launched Vibgyor Shark in India, the bike is priced at Rs 52,000. This 150cc bike is available with front disc brake, 18 inch tyres, 5 speed gearbox, 142.6cc of displacement. The motor of the bike produces top power of 13.05 ps at 9500 rpm and generates max torque of 9.5 Nm at 7500 rpm. The bike will be launched all over India in a phased manner.
Vibgyor Vehicles, a Kolkata based bike manufacturer, has launched two new bikes in India including Vibgyor Shark and Hunter. Vibgyor already has a product named Vibgyor Gallop in a few states of India. These two bikes viz, Vibgyor Shark 150cc and Vibgyor Hunter 125cc were launched by Sourav Ganguly at Delhi Auto Expo, January, 2010. Now the company is launching the bikes in other parts of the country as well as appointing dealers.
The Vibgyor Shark has been developed by the company's own R&D team and used domestic components. The Vibgyor Shark competes with Bajaj Pulsar 150cc, Hero Honda Hunk, CBZ X-Treme, Honda Unicorn, Suzuki GS150R, TVS Apache and Yamaha FZ16. The bike is equipped with a 4 storke, single cylinder, SOHC air cooled powertrain with a displacement of 142.6cc.
The powerplant of Vibgyor Shark pumps out a peak power of 13.05 PS at 9,500 rpm and generates a top torque of 9.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The ignition system is CDI and it used Mico Bosh's spark plug. Both the options, Kick start and electric start, is provided to Vibgyor Shark. The bike incorporates a five speed gearbox along with wet multi-plates clutch. The gear shifting pattern is all front down. Vibgyor Shark has been loaded with a front disc brake and drum brake at rear. It boasts of telescopic fork at front and hydraulic coil spring shocker at rear side. The Vibgyor Shark is having 1295mm of wheelbase which is used in premium bikes in India.
The bike has stunning looks with superb fit and finish. The Vibgyor Shark has bold hood, well designed fuel tank, two-piece horn like grab bars, stunning silencer and black alloy wheels. Apart from front fender, fuel tank and rear side panel, Vibgyor Shark has got all black treatment.
Vibgyor Shark has been fitted with an air cooled, 4 stroke, single cylinder, SOHC engine with a displacement of 142.6cc. The mill of the Vibgyor Shark is capable of generating a maximum power of 13.05 PS at 9,500 rpm and a top torque of 9.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It possesses a five speed gearbox that follows all front down pattern. The Vibgyor Shark has been assembled with a 14 litres of petrol tank capacity and 1 litres of reserve. The bike can deliver a standard mileage of around 50 kmpl in city.
Vibgyor Vehicles showcased Vibgyor Shark at Delhi Auto Expo 2010 in dual tone body colour. It was in black and yellow colour. The body colour is used at front fender, fuel tank and rear side panels. The rest of the Vibgyor Shark has all black treatment. Only front disc brake and muffler are in silver finish. It is expected that the bike will have red, all black, grey and blue.
The company has fitted the Vibgyor Shark with a 142.6cc engine which incorporates single cylinder, air cooling, 4 stroke SOHC mill. The powertrain produces a top power of 13.05 PS at 9,500 rpm and churns out a peak torque of 9.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. It is also blessed with a five speed transmission that uses the power very well. The R&D team of Vibgyor succeeds to achieve great power and torque figures. As a result, performance of the Vibgyor Shark becomes amazing. It accelerates well with wet multi-plates clutch.
As far as exterior appearance of the Vibgyor Shark is concerned, it is having killing look and sure to win bike lovers heart. The designers at the company has done a great job to provide Vibgyor Shark a distinctive look. They pasted some eye-catching graphics at fuel tank and rear side panels. The front view of the Vibgyor Shark is aggressive and eye-soothing. It's front fender has got body colour with black tail. Headlamp cluster houses bigger headlamp and black tinted wind shield. Rear view mirrors are in black shade and mounted on handlebars.
It has a digital cum analogue dashboard. The dashboard is comprised of digital fuel gauge and analogue speedo and tachometer. Graphical work at fuel tank is remarkable as well. The body colour is used at middle and sides of the fuel tank. The model name is pasted at both side of the tank. The seat of Vibgyor Shark is step-up type. However, side panels are in black shade and add to the beauty of the machine. Bike company name is carved at the engine's casing. The rear side of Vibgyor Shark has been assembled with body colour panels. It has two-piece grab bars in horn like shape.
The tail side is just common. But the silencer of Vibgyor Shark deserves appreciation as its comes in stunning design. The round shape muffler comes in silver shade. The machine has got 6 spoke black alloy wheels.
As the Vibgyor Shark falls in commuter bike segment, comfort level is kept in mind to compete with other bikes in India. Digital fuel gauge has been incorporated that helps to get exact fuel status. You can re-fill the fuel tank before it gets dry suddenly. The seat of Vibgyor Shark has enough cushion and it comes in step-up style. The pillion rider can use rear grab bars for more safety. The bike is also gifted with self start facility that help to quick start your vehicle in heavy traffic.

The Vibgyor Shark possesses a number of advanced features such as disc brake, alloy wheels, super design etc. But the company disappoints the customers by using standard suspension at both end. The front suspension is a telescopic type while the other one is hydraulic coil spring type. Even though, you can expect a pleasing riding experience with these forks.

The basic reason behind using front disc brake is most of the braking is done by front brake. So having front disc brake is justified.
