Piaggio will be launching its premium 125cc lightweight scooter in the Indian markets in a few months from now. Christened as Piaggio Liberty, it will be a one of its kind scooter in the country that carries a unique body styling and appreciable performance.
Piaggio Liberty is powered by a 125cc, four-stroke, air-cooled motor that is mated to an automatic transmission system. The engine develops a peak power of 10.06bhp at 7,500rpm with a maximum torque of 10.60Nm at 6,000rpm. The company claims a fuel economy of 59kmpl, which is for a 125cc scooter.
Piaggio Liberty is bolted on a sheet metal body with welded reinforcements and runs on tubeless tyres at both ends. Its suspension system includes single sided trailing link at the front and hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The scooter is fitted with 200mm disc brake at the front and 110mm drum brake at the rear end.
Piaggio Liberty is a peppy lightweight two-wheeler that bridges the gap between a conventional scooter and a moped. Its front profile sports an eye-shaped headlamp with clear lens turning blinkers embedded at the front apron. Coming to the rear, it has a small tail lamp section with a long rear fender that gives it an appealing look. The chromed rear view mirrors and brake levers add to the pros of this machine. The instrument cluster is traditional, which includes an analogue speedometer and fuel gauge.
The scooter is equipped with many convenient features as well. It gets a theft immobilizer that prevents it from being stolen. The machine further comes with a genuine underseat storage capacity of 10.8 liter. Piaggio Liberty also sports a step-up seat that enhances its visuals.
