Piaggio Vespa S

Vespa once used to be the undisputed ruler of Indian scooter market. However, the company discontinued from this segment long ago due to some collaboration issues. The Italian brand made its re-entry to India with its fresh range of four-stroke scooters, without any alteration in name. The scooter is powered by a 125cc, 3-valve, four-stroke engine mated to a continuously variable transmission system (CVT). The mill churns out a maximum power of 9.92hp at 7,500rpm with a peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6,000rpm. The peppy engine comes to life with an easy electric starter.

Vespa S sits on a full monocoque steel frame. The scooter runs on tubeless tyres at both ends and comes equipped with 200mm ventilated disc brake at the front and 140mm drum brakes at the rear. The suspension system includes aircraft derived single side arm with Anti-dive characteristics at the front and dual-effect hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter comes with stylish black alloy wheels as well.

The instrument cluster is advanced with sporty black dials providing required information. Vespa S also offers a rear saddle handlebar as an option. The headlamp section comes with a retro look incorporating rectangular shaped headlight, which looks classy. The front panel is further integrated with indicators and some chrome element giving the scooter a much deserved visual appeal. A good amount of chrome has been used to craft the vehicle’s body, which finds its place at rear view mirrors, Vespa 3D logo, handlebar ends, suspension and exhaust.

To enhance the level of comfort, Vespa S is fitted with broad and long contoured seats. The scooter also features a sporty tail light, that looks impressive. The body dynamics of Vespa S are neatly designed, giving it a trendy scooter image. However, it is a bit costlier than other scooters available in market today, marking a slight disadvantage.
