Vespa India has launched its updated scooter portfolio in the Indian market and is priced starting from Rs 1,32,500 (ex-showroom). The Vespa is offered in four variants: Vespa 125, Vespa Tech 125, Vespa 150 and Vespa Tech 150. It is available in seven distinctive colour schemes: Verde Amabile, Rosso Red, Pearl White, Nero Black, Azzurro Provenza, Blue and Pearl White and Orange and Pearl White
Here’s an overview of all the variants it gets:
Vespa 125:
The Vespa 125 is offered as the most affordable scooter in the line-up with a classic design and still retains its retro design elements like the smooth and curvy body lines and circular chrome mirrors and fancy 5-spoke alloy wheels. It also gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with a small LCD showing trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge and other readouts while the speedometer remains analogue.
The Vespa 125 is powered by an 124.45cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 9.38PS of peak power and 10.1Nm of torque and gets a 200mm front disc with a 140mm rear drum brake with CBS (Combined Braking System).
Vespa Tech 125:
The Vespa Tech 125 is offered as a more tech-loaded variant of the base Vespa 125. The scooter retains the original classic design and specifications of the Vespa but now has a 5-inch colour TFT display showing readouts of the speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge and it also gets displapy themes. The scooter also gets smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts and keyless ignition too. The scooter is offered in two exclusive colour options: Energico Blue and Grigio Grey.
Vespa 150:
The Vespa 150 also gets the same classic design of the 125 with retro-themed design elements like chrome mirrors, fancy 5-spoke alloy wheels along with subtle branding elements distinguishing itself from the 125s. The scooter also gets the same semi-digital instrument cluster as its smaller-capacity sibling.
The Vespa 150 is powered by an 149.5cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 11.26PS and 11.66Nm of torque and gets a 200mm front disc with a 140mm rear drum brake and comes equipped with single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard.
Vespa Tech 150:
The Vespa Tech 150 is the tech-loaded model of the Vespa 150 and similar to the Tech 125 model, this also gets a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts and keyless ignition. It is also offered in the same exclusive colour options as the Tech 125: Energico Blue and Grigio Grey.
All Vespa scooters are now compliant with OBD-2B emission norms and get a single-side arm front suspension and a rear shock absorber with 4-step adjustability. The scooters sit on an 11-inch front wheel with a 110-section tubeless tyre and a 10-inch rear wheel with a 120-section tubeless tyre. The scooters get a seat height of 770mm and a fuel tank of 7.4 litres. The Vespa scooter line-up now consists of three models: Vespa, Vespa S and the Vespa Qala. The Qala models are based on the Vespa Tech (both 125 and 150) variants with the same technical specifications but get a unique mehndi inspired design and colour scheme.
