Bharat Mobility Expo : Yamaha FZ-X Gets Two New Colours, Grand Filano And NMAX 155 Scooters Showcased

Yamaha has showcased the new colour schemes that will be offered on the FZ-X, along with two scooters – the Yamaha Grand Filano and NMAX 155 – currently sold in international markets, at Bharat Mobility Expo.

The Yamaha FZ-X has received 2 new colour schemes: Chrome and Metallic Black. The Chrome colour is reminiscent of the Mr. Clean colour scheme seen on the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and features a fully chromed out fuel tank. It comes with gold painted rims and a side panel with FZ-X written in gold. The Metallic Black colour gives the bike a glossy black painted fuel tank and a front fender with the same colour and finish.

The new colours look really good on the FZ-X and adds a touch of elegance to the design overall. So far Yamaha hasn’t announced the prices of these new colours and we expect the announcement to happen in the coming weeks. The update hasn’t changed the performance of the bike and it is still powered by the same 149cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 12.4PS and 13.3Nm.

Now moving on to the two new scooters that were showcased at the event. We have seen the Yamaha Grand Filano and the NMAX 155. The Grand Filano is a commuter scooter that is similar to the Yamaha Fascino 125 but with a few design changes that gives it a unique identity of its own. 

It features a curvy design, and comes with a diamond shaped headlight with turn indicators mounted on the apron. It also comes with a few changes like a vertical division that runs from the top to the bottom of the apron.

The scooter is powered by a 124.86cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine which outputs 8.2PS and 10.4Nm. It is built on an underbone frame.It is suspended on a telescopic fork at front and a single shock absorber in the rear. Braking duties are handled by a disc brake at front and drum brake in the rear. The scooter rolls on 12-inch wheels at the front and rear. 

In terms of features it comes with a LCD instrument cluster with a TFT dash below. The scooter gets smartphone connectivity with Yamaha Y-Connect App. Other features include an apron-mounted fuel filler, which makes it easy to refuel the scooter without having to open the seat and a spacious 27-litre underseat storage. There’s also an apron-mounted USB charging socket.

The NMAX 155 is a maxi-style scooter powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that outputs 15.1PS and 14Nm. The performance is very similar to the Yamaha Aerox 155 but the Nmax’ design is even more like a proper European maxi scooter than the Aerox.

In terms of features, the NMAX 155 comes with an LCD instrument console and gets functionalities such as traction control, keyless ignition with Yamaha’s smart key along with a start/stop system which cuts power when idle, riders can restart the scooter by releasing the brake and twisting the throttle. 

Overall, both scooters are interesting choices and we hope they come to India. As for the pricing and launch dates, Yamaha hasn’t announced anything so far but we expect them to make an announcement soon.
