The Hosur-based brand has made Asia’s longest chequered flag to celebrate this milestone

TVS Motor Company introduced the Apache series of motorcycles, starting with the Apache 150, back in 2005. And now, the Hosur-based brand has achieved the 4 million sales mark across the world. To commemorate this milestone, the company has made Asia’s longest chequered flag measuring 957 feet wide and 5 feet tall. TVS smashed the previous record of around 250 feet, entering both the Asia Book of Records as well as the India Book of Records. The flag contained over 2,000 images of Apache owners.

The TVS Apache range has been well known for all things sporty. The company pioneered India’s first dual-channel ABS in the Apache RTR 180. Then, the next-generation TVS Apache RTR 160 4V became the benchmark in the 160cc segment. Even the BS6-compliant version is as capable as its predecessor, and you can read all about it in our first ride review here. The Apache RTR 200 4V, too, has been a performance-packed value-for-money motorcycle.

TVS entered the mid-capacity segment with the gorgeous-looking Apache RR 310 developed in conjunction with BMW Motorrad. It also helped the German marque to tap into the highly lucrative segment with their first small-capacity twins, the G 310 R and G 310 GS. While the BS6-compliant iterations of the two German bikes witnessed not-so-major changes, TVS went a step ahead and introduced multiple riding modes in the BS6-compliant Apache RR 310 -- a first in its segment. It also added a proper smartphone-compatible TFT screen for better utility. You can read more in our exclusive road test review here.

Now, rumours are running rife that TVS is working on a naked version of the Apache RR 310, presumably called the Apache RTR 310. This motorcycle will appeal to a wider section of audience who want a balance of comfortable ergonomics and sporty performance. This will also help the Hosur-based bikemaker to take the fight to the well-established rival, the KTM 390 Duke

Moreover, with initiatives like the Apache Owners Group, curated community rides and events like MotoSoul, the brand has moved from selling just a product to selling a more wholesome lifestyle.
