Check out this tastefully-modified Yamaha Vixion R from Indonesia

Here’s a very tastefully modified Yamaha Vixion R from Indonesia that features parts borrowed from the Yamaha MT-15, Yamaha R6, Yamaha R25, Yamaha MT09, Honda CBR 600 and KTM 390 Duke,  along with a few aftermarket performance parts as well. Finished in gloss red, along with faux carbon-fibre bits, this bike looks absolutely stunning.

The Yamaha Vixion R is a stripped down, naked version of the Yamaha R15 (think MT-15, without the funky streetfighter design), which is on sale in South East Asian markets. While the base bike used is still a Vixion R, this modified one uses a plethora of parts borrowed from the aforementioned bikes, in addition to a few aftermarket parts. Let’s take a closer look at all the modifications the motorcycle sports.

The bike uses a headlight borrowed from the KTM 390 Duke, which is covered in a carbon fibre wrap, and is also fitted with a tasteful small front cowl.

The bike also gets an upside down fork lifted off the Yamaha MT15. The dual front disc brakes are borrowed from the Honda CBR 600 while the calipers are from RCB. While this definitely looks cool, the braking hardware is an overkill for a 150cc bike.

Mechanically, the bike retains the same 155.1 cc engine that produces 19PS and 14.7Nm. There are no performance parts like a high flow air filter or retuned/high-performance ECU to help the motor produce more power.

The chain and sprocket set is from DID. While the front sprocket is the same size as the stock unit with 15 teeth, the rear jobbie has 43 teeth, compared to the stock bike’s 47 teeth rear sprocket. This custom chain sprocket set should help the bike hit a higher top speed, but outright acceleration will be sacrificed slightly.

While the instrument cluster is sourced from Koso, the bike uses a RCB radial master cylinder for the front brakes along with a RCB hydraulic clutch. The brake and clutch levers are also sourced from RCB.

The taillights are sourced from the Yamaha MT-09 and the bike is also equipped with a custom tail tidy, wrapped in faux carbon-fibre.

The bike also gets a custom (full) exhaust system, part of which is borrowed from the Yamaha R6. The body panels are from the Yamaha MT15, and there’s no doubt that this bike version of Frankenstein’s Monster looks gorgeous. Also featured are ultra wide tyres, 120-section up front and 180-section in the rear.

While the base bike costs IDR 29.25 million, which translates to around Rs 1.57 lakh, the total costs of only the modifications are IDR 33 million, which is around Rs 1.77 lakh. Well, for that combined price of around Rs 3.15 lakh, you would be better off buying a sub 400cc naked bike like the BMW G 310 R, Honda CB300 R or the KTM 390 Duke, which will also have the performance to match its looks.
