Honda’s premium 650cc sports tourer that hit the Indian shores on 4th August at Honda Revfest is showing some decent sales in just a month from its launch. About 50 units of the bike have been already sold and the manufacturer is eyeing on a total annual sales of 200 units.

Honda CBR 650F is the largest capacity model by the manufacturer that comes to us via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. Keeping this in mind, most of us expected that the bike would arrive with a competitive price tag. However, this did not happened and the bike was priced at whopping Rs. 7.3 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi), giving a huge blow of disappointment to its admirers. The mightier Kawasaki Z800 comes with more muscles under its flesh and costs just Rs. 20,000 more than the CBR 650F.

YS Guleria, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Honda conveyed at the SIAM convention that the company has a target of 200 units for the CBR 650F in an year. Since he was talking of financial year, and not of the calendar year, the bike has a remaining time of eight months to achieve the expected sales figure. He further conveyed that the company has already sold 50 units of the bike in just a month, which is a good sign indeed.

The market for bigger capacity bikes is getting stronger with every passing day in the country. And the 500cc to 800cc segment is the favourite of the manufacturers. Let’s take a look at the sales figures of top bikes in the above stated segment in the current as well as previous financial year. The figures are officially sourced from the SIAM and are authentic.
