The NS200 gets a power bump post its BS6 update

  • The RS200 makes around the same power as before.
  • The NS200 now comes with fuel injection.
  • Both bikes feature an updated engine and a larger cat-con.
  • Unofficial bookings have commenced for a token amount ranging between Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000.

We earlier brought you the revised prices of the BS6 NS200 and the RS200 post the BS6 update. The NS200 now retails at Rs 1,13,331 and the RS200 at Rs 1,43,750 (both prices ex-showroom Mumbai). Now, we’ve managed to get hold of the bikes’ specs -- just days after both the motorcycles started reaching dealerships. On the upside, the NS200 puts out more power than before!

Thanks to the addition of fuel-injection, an ECU and a larger cat-con, the NS200 makes 0.97PS more power at 9750rpm via its 199.5cc single-cylinder engine. The BS4 model makes 23.5PS. As for the RS200, its performance figures are near-identical to its BS4 counterpart. Where the BS4 model made 24.5PS, the BS6 RS200 produces 24.47PS. Torque output, on the other hand, is likely to hover around 18.3-18.6Nm.

There’s no change in the overall dimensions or the hardware of the bikes. Both bikes share the same suspension and braking setup. The only difference being, the RS200 features dual-channel ABS while the NS makes do with a single-channel setup.

Interested customers can unofficially book the streetfighter or the supersport for a token amount ranging between Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000. Both bikes are expected to be launched by February-end or early-March 2020.
