Yamaha has kicked off the new financial year with a bang, and how!

Yamaha has launched a new Intensity White Colour for the R15 V4, priced at Rs 1,85,900, while the MT-15 V2 gets two new colours – Dark Matte Blue, and Metallic Black – both priced at Rs 1,64,900. Moreover, the R15S now gets the R15V4’s engine, and is priced at Rs 1,63,400  (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Starting with the R15 V4, Intensity White is the fourth colour scheme here, and as such is exclusive on the R15 V4. The bright white base colour gets grey pinstripes on the tank and side panels. The alloys are a contrasting red, as is a subtle red streak on the side panel. These are the only visual differences from the other R15 variants, as the engine and underpinnings are black, and the USD continues to be gold. Moreover, the new white colour scheme is priced the same as the Racing Blue.

Meanwhile, the two new colour schemes on the MT-15 V2 take the total number to six. Both colours – the Dark Matte Blue, and the Metallic Black – take us back to the two black and blue paint schemes the ‘original’ 2019 MT-15 got, with the only notable difference being the subtle neon graphics on the Dark Matte Blue model’s tank extension. Everything else on both variants remains the same visually. These two colours are Rs 4,000 more affordable than the other colour variants.

Both the R15V4 and the MT-15 V2 get the same 155cc liquid-cooled VVA-equipped single-cylinder engine making 18.4PS and 14.2Nm, with the OBD2 update taken into account. However, while the Intensity White R15 V4 gets a quickshifter as standard (like the Racing Blue colour), the Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black MT-15 duo get halogen indicators instead of LED units, and miss out on Yamaha’s Y-Connect smartphone connectivity module, which explain the lower price. That said, the new MT-15 colour variants still get dual-channel ABS and traction control.

The R15S on the other hand, makes 18.4PS and 14.2Nm (at 1000rpm lower than its predecessor). This makes it 0.2PS less powerful and 0.1Nm torquier than the outgoing R15S. The bike also complies with OBD2 emission norms, and comes with a revised LCD instrument cluster as well.
