Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer, Ola Electric has launched the all-new S1Z electric scooter in India at an introductory price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom). The new scooter is available in either a 3.1 kWh or 5.1 kWh battery pack option. It is also Ola’s first scooter to use the brand’s indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) technology.

The S1Z can be booked from Ola’s official website for Rs 999. Deliveries for the 3.1 kWh variant will begin in December 2026, while the larger 5.1 kWh variant will be delivered starting from March 2027.
Design
The S1Z gets a similar design language that we have seen with other Ola scooters. It gets an LED headlight, minimalistic side panels, and a flat, single-piece seat. Overall, the scooter looks simple yet stylish. It is available in four colour options: White, Anthracite, Sky Splash Blue, and Matcha Green.

The biggest highlight of the Ola S1Z is the brand’s new indigenously developed 46-series LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery. It helps keep costs down while offering better thermal stability and battery life compared to regular battery cells.
Its range figures are quite impressive, with the smaller battery pack variant delivering a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 179 km, while the bigger 5.1 kWh variant gets a claimed range of 301 km.
The scooter is powered by a 4 kW peak motor (common for both variants) with a claimed top speed of 70 kmph. The 3.1 kWh variant can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 4.6 seconds, while the 5.1 kWh variant takes 4.9 seconds. There are also two ride modes on the scooter: Eco and Normal.
Features
The Ola S1Z gets a similar 4.3-inch segmented LCD screen as the S1X Gen 3. It comes with Ola’s MoveOS 5 and is equipped with features such as cruise control, advanced regenerative braking, reverse mode, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Other features include geofencing, a live location indicator, and maintenance reminders.
Underpinnings
The scooter gets a telescopic fork along with twin shock absorbers. It rides on 12-inch steel wheels and gets drum brakes at both ends with a combined braking system (CBS).
